I tried folks! This has been so beyond frustrating. I’ve tried MM, BM, And Spriest… I just can’t do it. Weeks of trying and nothing to show for it… congrats to everyone that got their sweet transmogs. Funny thing is, I love the challenge and don’t even care for the transmogs. I just wanted to be able to complete it. I followed the guides, improved, etc. The cost of consumables has gutted me. Is what it is!

Seems Blizzard only wanted to milk players of days of grinding and hundreds of thousands of gold maybe even some tokens.
Edit: perhaps Once the sales of tokens slow to a stop they’ll nerf it to the ground.

You tried the ones that are kinda challenging this time around ~ no shame in admitting defeat and knowing your limit for now. Truth be told, with how timewalking scaling is with the MT, don’t feel too bad. It was terribly unbalanced during Legion and it’s worse now.

Honestly, what they could have done is have a dificulty option choice that ONLY the player choosing that option would see, everything would stay the same for unlocks/acheives. This would let the people only there for the thing, get the thing, and also let the people looking for ‘muh challenge’ also do ‘muh challenge’ too. It would have benefited every one to have had it implemented in that manner.

Sounds reasonable. Considering people that did it on PTR said it felt like a reasonable challenge yet they stealth buffed it and now seemingly are changing things that were in the original encounter that makes fights even harder… you gotta wonder their thought process.
It’s a timewalking event, a challenge, so it doesn’t need to be a roll over, and some people may not get it because that’s how challenges go.
But any number of things could of helped;
It ultimately should of not let you use pre legion gear or enchants etc…
And scaled you with whatever gear you had… with a vendor at the entrance that offers some things that aid you.
I donno off the top of my head but while the responses by forum seems close to current legion [their disdain for MT] lol, it could of been kinda avoided had they listened.

I’m still destressing with cute rat videos.
Tried shadow for the two weeks. Just can’t do it.
I don’t meet the dps check and they hotfixed the cheese strat before I could get back in there so. I’m doomed.
My profile shows my mage gear. I have sockets everywhere I can. And the trinket.
Will keep trying but damn. Raest is just nowhere close to dying. So much going on.

Didn’t even buy the new pet and I have every pet I can get in this game.
Because I legitimately might quit over this.

Sorry to hear. If anything at least take a break. Best thing when you have been at it for too long is to walk away and come back fresh later.
As for consumables… I really wouldn’t bother using them until you are really comfortable with the fight and ready to finish it. Saves the cost and the stress if you expectation is to wipe but you are focusing more on the small successes of getting further or feeling more comfortable with a certain mechanic.
He did that in my legion MT vid as well so I think it is normal (as normal as some freak elf swimming in air can be anyway). Though at the time spriest was able to nuke him down pretty fast so not sure if that needs to be addressed or what. I did spriest with all the bells and whistles of the last patch so it was a lot easier than it should have been.
