technically its not the textbook definition of a scam. a scam would be if you didnt get your product. what it is is a lazy, cheap way for corporate to pass the cost of business onto customers while giving poor people the middle finger. aka a paywall for a previously free video game function. if they are going to do this then bring back the keychain authenticator blizzard. NOW. although with supply issues and the chip shortage this may now be impossible.

because i don’t need one right now for the way my life is. i have a landline still that i regularly use. i live within walking distance of all my immediate family and my workplace. i have NO need for a smartphone atm. i don’t travel places because my current job stopped offering pto to part time employees who work less than 32 hours. if i need a mobile online device my parents have one i can borrow. i still live with my parents. so NO i don’t NEED a smartphone in my life at the moment. if i want to browse the internet i got my desktop computer.
