I wouldn’t bother, they both don’t want help, they would rather cry about a made up problem than fix it within minutes.
I am 100% in support of the authenticator change, but
I agree with this.
they could make some simple enhancements to their terrible LFG interface to allow for more customization of a group via pre-set options, as mentioned by Yonbi above.

HELL if you want to be that suss about it go get a 5 dollar sim card and slap that into an actual phone and boom you can receive but not send this is VERY norm

this is thee stupidest crap i have ever seen forcing us to use a app on a cell phone. blizzard forgets who pays the bills. US the customers. clearly this is broken “working as intended” as blizzard states. i can see alot of people quiting a already dead game. its sad. remove it no one cares about your criminals spamming lfg

You can use it on your PC or laptop as well by using an emulater such as blue stacks. There are others but that’s one I’m familiar with.
The authenticator works on BlueStacks? That’s awesome! That actually solves the “I don’t have a smart phone” problem!
I had the same concern! But I found out that you can generate a restore code and keep it somewhere safe. This code should allow you to restore your authenticator on an entirely new phone. 
Firstly it’s not mandatory. You can still list groups perfectly fine without needing an authenticator. You just can’t use custom text. This was done to stop advertisements from compromised accounts, which has worked. When you’re creating a group for M+ for example, the necessary details will be filled in automatically for you. What dungeon you’re trying to do, what level the key is etc.
Here’s the deal though, it’s not the end of the world to get an authenticator. Not only do you get to rest easy knowing that it will be extremely difficult for hackers to get unauthorized access to your account, but you also get more inventory slots on your base backback (20 slots, up from 16) and the app is so easy to use that it’s honestly an insignificant impact.
You can honestly blame the advertisers who kept spamming the group finder for these changes. They were necessary to put a serious dent in the operations of the scammers.

I’d rather have the spam. That gets solved with an addon I downloaded with one click god knows how long ago. This is several taps and keystrokes every day

No one should be forced to use an addon just to be able to use the group finder the way it was intended pre-advertisement spam.
And honestly, people should be protecting their accounts anyway. Why do you think the advertisers were so relentless in the first place? Because they were using the compromised accounts of idiots who refused to use basic account security measures.

I am with you on this. I dont have decent access to a cell phone, and have been working with email authentication since cata. Really upset by this, suddenly I cannot make groups
I already debunked this. You can make groups, you just can’t use custom text.
If you’re creating a group for, to use a key that you mentioned in a different thread, Plaguefall +15, the name for that group will be auto-filled based off the key you have in your inventory. You’ll still be able to set up all the requirements to join the group too such as the M+ score requirement, if you want to include one.
You just won’t be able to write custom text. So if you’re only after a mage, you’ll have to do the legwork to weed through all the applications of people wanting to join your group, rather than only having mages apply because your custom text said ‘mages only’.

so basically, i open up LFG, choose creat dungeon group, select PF and then the dropbown Mythic Plus and it will AUTO generate what key?? if so, this just solved 99 percent ofmy problems
Essentially, yeah. The title for the group will auto-fill based off the key in your inventory.
The group finder allows you to easily form groups for group quests, raids, dungeons etc, all without needing custom text. It may require a bit more legwork from some players who now need to filter through people applying for the specific class they want, but that’s a small price to pay for getting rid of advertisement spam.
