Nah they screwed us with df mounts not being the same model now they do the opposite when this mount is booty.
3rd bat is worst news of the patch. So sad…
Except for unique situations where it will amount to saving 1 global in bear form, this is a nerf.
I am pretty worried about ele losing Ancestral Guidance and (so far) only getting an 80% healing stream buff. AG is so good for ele survivability especially since its used during ascendance, it lets us not have to spam healing surge to preserve healer cds during asc. Damage is so high that killing through wall is possible, so even with astral shift up AG gets huge value. Does 25-27m healing for me in blitz games, and usually 9-12m in shuffle, 12-15m in 3s. Healing stream doesn’t even come close to that, 80% buff does very little.
I dont mind losing AG as long as the replacement is strong though. Ideally a talent like this: “every x maelstrom spent, your next chain heal or healing surge is instant and does x% increased healing” replaces it. That would achieve their goal of shamans pushing more active off healing globals. Our burst healing will go down but sustained healing would be better. Not a single ele sham is going to want to spam cast healing surge in pvp, its the 2nd least mobile caster as well its just too annoying to do, so this would improve that situation too.
Yeah. If it were baseline, that would be one thing. But it’s still seemingly a PvP talent… just passive, uncontrollable, and with a longer CD.
Garbage that’ll rarely be taken, in other words.
Welp. PvP Talents have really diminished over the years… I miss Legion and BfA with them haha
Another good way to put it. Fs nerfed.
tbh I play both balance and feral and idk what the survivability issues are with boomy that people are experiencing, its much more tanky than feral. I feel indestructible on my boomy and my damage is none stop no matter what. The armor in boomy form really makes you tanky. You can bear and regen high and you can kite with roots and typhoon not to mention 8% damage reduction from regrowth and free regrowth every few seconds. so get gud guys
Boomies have been giga tank lords since Legion in PVP. Only outdone by Warlocks.
Making Feral squishy isn’t the way to go.
I can assure you, boomie can die whenever. Feral only dies at 30% damp.
A lot of ppl play balance druid like a warlock, just stand in the middle of the map in moonkin and rotate schools.
I feel like those are the ppl saying moonkin is squishy.
I’m upset about resto shaman losing ancestral guidance. That is all.
Huh? Boomy was very killable all of BFA to the point of being inviable S2&S3 (broken S1 because of azerite trait and everything was fine S4 because of verse corruptions). It was the tankiest spec possibly in the game in SL S1, but ever since has been made of paper and dies easier than literally any other class.
It’s still the squishiest spec in the game RN and will probably be weaker with the changes (cyclone nerf pretty big), BUT has WAY more QoL with the new tree so it’s a net win IMO.
True, true.
Warlocks just catching strays made of goodness.
Lets go
No way you think this
Boomy could “Facetank” more during many patches of the past few expansions. It has come to rely more on kiting and positioning, though, due to the increase of pseudo-burst and micro-CCs. On top of that, Moonkin and Bear Armor, Bear Stamina and things like Celestial Guardian were nerfed multiple times. The problem with this, is that it’s trying to make one spec (Balance Druid) into something it cannot be (Mage). Boomy should be tankier than Mage (Cloth) naturally because of its relative armor type (Leather) and lack of concrete immunity or damage denial abilities. Warlocks and now SPriest (though Cloth) are artificially tankier due to passive and active shield, leeching and sacrificial talents. Boomy should be somewhere in the middle.
The Cyclone nerf was justified (although I wish Hard CCs were never nerfed. PvP is turning into PvE…), but Boomy will definitely need just another additional defensive notch turned up a bit to compensate and let players learn about casting and kiting, and how much damage they can take while developing awareness for things like positioning, CC chains and DRs. If they just flop, they can’t learn. Boomy is just one example here. I had friends of different classes recently come back and leave because they couldn’t live long enough to react to stuff. One of them was quite higher EXP than me. Survivability is just important in tuning. It DOESN’T equate to asking for endless games where health bars are never nudged.
What’s important and I wish was tested and communicated earlier and more often, is how classes and specs feel OUTSIDE of the competitive demands of Mythic dungeons and raids. Tuning for those will naturally lead to more homogeneity, which easily makes certain specs stand out or fall back more in PvP. Then, usually over or under-tuning will lead to crazy shenanigans and specs being OP or useless for months… And we know the drill that follows… the ultimate sad result: Reduced participation, increased FoTM and longer queues.
The design philosophy and approach to tuning is the real issue here. PvP shouldn’t be treated like a side-game, even if it statistically is so. It’s still the most mechanically intricate, complex and skillful of the MMO PvPs, at least IMO. I hope we see more love soon… Be it MMR, tuning, or rewards
As for Boomy, I love the direction. Again, I think we just needed one more thing (like Aessina’s Renewal in some form being added to Renewal, or as a follow-up talent. I was disappointed when it turned out to be a new choice node with it. IMO the rest of the changes are decent small steps in a healthier direction for the spec and for playing around it long-term)
