id like a way to choose between flight form and ground form. Can it be done?
It used to be like that. I only really miss it when I go into travel form because flight form isn’t allowed, but Don’t pop into flight form once I am out of that area.
I think this still works properly?
It adds an extra button to your forms bar that’s specific to ground mounts.

But OP choose carefully if you do this.
Once you learn this you can not remove it, which means you’ll never be able to revert back to cheetah form per the comments on wow head
A GM will not remove this either.

??? is that real? Pretty sure you can choose the new cheetah or old cheetah ? in the barber shop? Or am I thinking of something else entirely?
That’s a very old comment (timestamp is 8 years ago), before the Druid forms were redone to be options at the barber shop and were instead done via glyphs. Now Mount Form will shift you into whatever you currently have selected as your ground travel form, which could be Cheetah if you want.
Used to be when Druid forms were glyph-based instead of barber shop options. It works the way you’d expect now.

Can confirm that as of Patch 10.0 unfortunately the Mark of the Cheetah still won’t work with the Mount Form. I applied Mark of the Cheetah after using the tome, and while the barbershop recognizes it and I even selected the cheetah form, YOU WON’T TURN INTO A CHEETAH WITH THE TOME OF THE WILDS MOUNT. You will still turn into a stag.

Cheetah form objectively isnt an option atm, as the mount-form, aka the one that by default carries other players, overrides cheetah form, as the default cheetah form didnt let you carry players. Only way to go around this currently is use travel form in combat/not having flight, as it does apply to travel form, but not mount form - even if all other mount forms, apply to both.

Cheetah should work with auto travel button. But not with stag button. But I haven’t tested it.
Okay so I just tested in-game with every ground form. The comment is right, Cheetah is the only one it doesn’t work with. That said, I don’t see any reason why that should be a negative of choosing to learn the Mount Form spell as the normal Travel Form spell will still select it in situations where a ground Travel Form is appropriate. There is no way to enter Cheetah form in an area where flying mounts are allowed and Mount Form doesn’t do anything to change that.
But in any case, unless the OP specifically wants Cheetah Form, the Mount Form spell will do what she wants and she loses no functionality by choosing to learn it.
You can buy the form off a couple NPCs

Honestly, my biggest gripe with not being able to unlearn it is that I took stag form to be a stag where I want to be a stag. Not for people to use me as their personal Uber.
I will forever despise the functionality of auto travel. It should have been an option. Not an entire rewrite.
I made this mistake with the “mount” form and the useless tree form. Breaks my heart the treant form is just a novelty now. I have these two extra buttons I just don’t need kinda stuck there. Lesson learned. I avoided doing it on the other druids.
