About "She who must not be named."

Yeah but only because he stole half her soul. You missed the cinematic i guess. Beautiful writing blizzard.

Can we just please forget about her for a few expansion? It was not that her story wasn’t compelling. It was that it was too overwhelming that it suppressed other interesting story arcs.

Don’t fret, guys.

Next expansion will have different writers, (AGAIN) and they will spew all the crap THEY want to spew, so Sylvanas will not be responsible, or will be responsible, or will stay dead forever, or will be reborn, or reincarnated as a dwarf, or wake up and all the last 4 expansions were just a dream, etc etc etc etc etc etc.

I gave up long ago trying to follow or even understand everything. BLATENT contradictions have become the only thing we can rely on anymore as far as lore goes.

That was just one thing that went wrong with the whole afterlife story line.

You listed others and still, there’s more. I hope Blizzard never does anything like SLs again.

That said, there are good things about SLs if you ignore the story line and main characters.
Flying cats are just one I can think of at this time but there’s lots of other good stuff there, too.

It’s a shame though about that story line. Could have been really intriguing. Oh well.

See that’s the thing that cheeses me off.
Sylvanas had such a strong & influential story – One they could have done so, so well with.

And they just … Wasted itso much.
They even lied to our face that it wouldn’t be a Garrosh 2.0 @ Blizzcon, and dance yet another wasted potential of a character routine. Yet that being said, that was the least of Shadowlands problems

There’s hundreds of afterlifes past the four we saw ingame.

No probably not especially considering the person supposedly responsible for said line is Alex Afrasiabi think Blizzard would ratger distance themselves from him as much as possible after the lawsuit.

Destruction of one waifu demands the creation of another or balance can’t be restored and the world (of Warcraft) will fall to chaos. None of the recent characters come anywhere near the quality of the Sylvanas waifu product. They never will until Blizz gets over their weird overcompensating phase.

Still can’t believe that it is now Canon that Sylvanas joined the Jailer because of Lava Eel vore.

…Wut…

I missed something somewhere, that came completely out of left-field for me.

Our story is pretty much subpar Cartoon Network content as this point. Just go back to the old Vanilla way and tell a minor story through quest. Give us big bad villains to kill just because they’re the villains. Stop trying to create mystery. It’s been long dead.

Yuh it’s in the Sylvanas book this goes over it if you’re curious.

Totally agree with all this!!

Honestly that’s what I want to see in 11.0 just an old world revamp with short contained stories about people recovering and rebuilding after the war and all that no big mystery or massive expansion long story just let us be adventures going around helping random people.

There is no bad time to talk about her…

incorrect. wild-gods are the ones being reincarnated. mortals are turned into spirit-animals that wander around taking-care of the wild-gods.

except for the fact that’s what happened in SL. it was’nt always like that, and i’m pretty sure currently/after SL, souls are either redeemed or like garrosh, disenchant themselves out of pride (rip garrosh, you did nothing wrong).

also, there’s more afterlives than just the big 4, those are more equivalent to say… the golden-gates of heaven. not exactly the afterlife, but some areas close to the entrance to it, as far as i understand it.

also, you have’nt really said anything that could be interpretted as defending sylvanas, you just stated facts about the ones we saw.

i’d say she was wrong about the afterlives being unfair. i’d say it’s very fair. act like a jerk, go to a place where jerks are punished, be a good person, go to a nice place. you do A, you get sent to B. seems fair to me, otherwise you’d have nice folks going to awful places, and awful folks getting into the good places. now that would be unfair.

also…

is just her getting triggered and acting like a whiney princess. it was and still is, very dumb. just like her ordering the horde to “burn it!!” cause she got triggered by an elf. (and don’t gimmie that lore justification that she was all-along working for the jailer, that’s a bullcrap excuse to excuse bad writing)

Not the point.

I was also confused about the comment and now that I’m told it’s in a book and once again not in game, I no longer care.

There’s a reason I don’t care much about the story of this game because half of it isn’t even in the actual game.

There are also hundreds of other afterlives that we didn’t see. It was mentioned in an few interviews. They just picked the ones most relevant to the story to showcase. Also, :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Sylvanas. Never speak of her again.
