Aye so, on the vendor and in bags he’s listed as epic, but like, when you learn him he drops down to rare?

Is this a bug or did they just miscolor him? Cause I kinda feel cheated out of tokens ngl.

Pretty sure it’s intended. There are a couple of other battle pets that have an epic item, but when learned are rare in the Pet Journal (rare is the highest quality players can collect). Not sure why Blizzard went with this design choice, but it is what it is.

Really wish they would have like, made that clear, like even when the pets unlearned in the journal it doesn’t tell you “rare” beforehand.

And any pet you buy of a quality, say common, uncommon, rare, will all be that quality when learned.

They should really just change it from an epic quality item to rare, because it’s literally just a token trap.

I don’t even pay attention to the item quality, because there was no indication from Blizzard they were increasing pet quality. :woman_shrugging:

Many players found this out and put them too the AH without learning hoping to fool younger or less exp pet battlers that they are getting a Epic instead of a Blue rare…I have a feeling it was done on purpose for that to happen …maybe not but its strange they would make two of newer pets epic for sale like that…some listed them unlearned for millions on AH.

Ima just open a ticket and try and get me charms back, because there is no way to rationalize this not being extremely misleading since nothing in game indicates that this would be capped at rare
