About people who troll in dungeons

Are these players cynical or really don’t know what to do in a heroic dungeon?

I was tanking a DG HC (The Dawnbreaker), as we went to the second boss, I pulled the last mini-boss left to weaken the boss. We were fine until a Dracthyr pulled all the adds that were back there, bringing them closer to the group, almost killing everyone, thankfully only he died. Okay, accidents can happen, but moments later, this Dracthyr resurrects and walks towards where we were (at least that’s what I thought), while we were regrouped killing that single ADD behind the boss, but this guy, once again, besides pulling all the adds that were far away again, he still pulls the boss and comes towards us, causing more deaths. It was clear to me that he was a troll, I decided to open a vote to kick him and he was kicked. And then he whispers to me “I’m new to this dungeon, but… ok”

Serious? How can a player already be at level 80 doing heroic dungeons and not know that, as a DPS, it’s not nice to pull several adds and the boss, without the tank doing it? Or else, he didn’t know how to look at the map to see where the group was? If it was a low level dungeon, ok… but it was a heroic mode dungeon.

lol…

Probably just newer to the dungeon, or having an off day with Skyriding. Things happen, you weren’t trolled it was just unfortunate.

I really hope this is hyperbole.

I use a translator, sorry, I’ll correct it.

Nice/Cool = “Legal” in Portuguese, I didn’t understand why the translator didn’t correct it lol.

Sounds like someone with little awareness probably due to being new and how cluttered and active the town is.

  1. They don’t know what to do in dungeons.
  2. They think they know what to do in dungeons.
  3. They feel empowered by intentional game changes to take control of the dungeon. Even if they have no clue what they are doing. Trolls find this an easy excuse for trolling.

Get real. The majority of players in heroic dungeons aren’t even capable of walking in a straight line. If they don’t know the way, they will run off in random directions rather than following the tank, who does know the way. If they think that it’s their purpose to help the group by pulling mobs, they will pull anything and everything, and take offense if anybody objects.

Citation needed for that lie.

The translators suck, and don’t really get nuance. Like if you tried to get it to translate beleza, same as you did with bacana

People who are running heroic dungeons at this stage are probably not very good players… why is that surprising?

Sounds like he butt-pulls on accident. It happens.

Sounds like you’ve become cynical yourself.

It’s surprising that he goes all out to harm the group instead of simply flying his mount to escape the pull or dying and waiting for ress.

Some people just want to watch the world burn

There are members in every group who, instead of walking in a straight line on the path the tank knows is safe (or is clearing for them), jump back and forth and from side to side, butt and face pulling mobs that would never have aggroed if that hadn’t happened.

And there are tanks who can’t even walk in a straight line. Stop trying to pass this off as only a DPS issue when tanks suffering from ‘main character syndrome’ could walk off a cliff and blame the DPS for not following him.

Don’t attribute to malice what could simply be explained by incompetence/inexperience/ignorance.

Hold up, pal. Don’t you dare try and tell me where to and not to troll.

Holding in mischief is as bad for you as holding in pee too long. When I have the urge to mischief, I mischief.

  • mischief is not limited to ‘trolling’ but rather unexpected spontaneous acting-out that’s not hurting anyone.

Right, but considering that he had already pulled before and almost wiped the group, wouldn’t that be enough for him to realize that pulling multiple adds and dragging them to the group was a terrible idea? Imagine doing it again, but this time bringing the boss along with the adds.

No kidding! I ran Timewalking Zul Farak and there were so many trolls! We had a troll on almost every pull! The ones where we didn’t have a troll, we had a bug! This has to stop!

So here’s the rub:

I’ve been tanking for 19 years. Druid, Pally, DK… and even DH when they first came out. DPS have been pulling crap since Mists of Pandaria, and had really started at the end of Cataclysm. Wrath was the LAST TRUE bastion of the tank leading Dungeons. Aside from the minor Hunter who would kite trash into the AoE, Tanks had always pulled and controlled the pace of the dungeon.

Flash forward to Heirlooms, and people grinding dungeons to level. Manners and decorum went out the window. So now, as a tank, if they do not path it to me, I watch those bums land on their face and LAUGH. If you think tanks get ANY level of respect in PUG groups, you would be sorely mistaken. As a tank, my ONLY duty is to my healer, and the only real tanking I do anymore is for friends and guildmates. The rest of these faceroll flunkies can go flip off a bridge in Valdrakken

I don’t see a problem when the DPS pulls adds before the tank, as long as it is in low level dungeons and the adds are necessary.

The problem here is that the guy pulled completely unnecessary adds, and the dungeon was in Heroic mode, and yet he took it to the group, harming everyone, twice, this kind of thing will almost always cause a wipe and harm the group.
