Quick questions about them. When doing an IE, there’s a chance of an invasion happening. I think there’s like 20 or so possible invasions. My question is, are the invasions dependent on what map you’re on, or is it completely random and you stand a chance of getting any invasion on any map?
So each week there are three maps, and each map is populated by a particular “tribe” of mobs, which also change each week.
If you go to WoWhead and click on BFA on the main page where it says “today in WoW” it will show what is available
So this week for example is
Molten Cay with Sand Trolls
Each island expedition has three stages.
-
Stage 1: This wave of changes occurs immediately after the Island Expedition begins. This consists of small camps of special enemies spawning in and friendly NPCs getting in trouble.
-
Stage 2: After some Azerite has been collected between both factions, a single event occurs at a location around the Island offering a large amount of Azerite. As of now this is always the spawning of the Unbound Monstrosity elementa.
-
Stage 3: When much more Azerite has been collected between both factions, the final wave of events occurs on the Island, consisting of an invasion of new creatures.
Now, as far as I know the invasion type is completely random. Also the loot you can get is notably NOT related to the invasion, but to the tribes that are there at the start.
not that i rememeber they always seem to come around the 50% mark
Yea. That much I was aware of. I just wasn’t sure if X island has 1,2 and 3, mob types so that island can only get A,B,C invasion types. Or if every map was just a 1 in 20 or so chance for each invasion.
Specifically, I’m masochistically punishing myself trying to get a Mogu invasion for a cloud serpent tame on my hunter. Yet I’ve probably done well in the ballpark of 50-100 at this point without a single Mogu invasion.
So I figured I’d get more information on invasions themselves to see if this is a pointless endeavor or not.
Yeah, it’s completely random which tribe the invasion is, though you are guaranteed an invasion in Stage 3.
