Just resubscribed and bought TWW. Already got my main to 70 but my friend who also is starting playing again with me wants to make a brand new character so i figured id level a new alt with them
My question is simply about how long can i expect it to take us to get to 60 just doing chromie time and dungeons in Warlirds? Not any kind of max speed leveling to hit the 4-5 hours you can get if you really try to turbo it, just doing the quests and bonus objectives as they pop up, always in a dungeon queue, the normal method even if its slower than the fastest possible way.
Knowing this wont really impact anything I do or anything, i just kinda want to know before i get into it. Was hoping we could get there in a week or so of gaming sessions, a few hours a day.
Is either one of you queueing as tank spec? If so, it’ll be substantially faster. That’s an instant queue. You may not have a good time however with the recent tank nerfs but who knows?
Having levelled many toons, questing is the fastest if done right but dungeons are more “brain dead”. I mean that as a positive. You can watch Netflix and dungeon spam. That’s harder questing.
The best dungeon spam is Timewalking. TW just finished, for WoD ironically (you mentioned WoD). It’ll be back in 2 weeks for Legion. Why? TW dungeons, particularly for the earliest expansions (TBC/WotLK) are more straightforward and generally faster. Plus TW dungeons have a larger XP bonus for queueing.
I’m not the fastest leveler by any means but I’ve done 10-60 in 4-5 hours with the old XP table. With the new XP table, I imagine it’ll be about 25% faster. 60-70 is about 4x faster.
So if you instant queue dungeons 5-6 hours for 10-60 should be extremely easy.
If you want some alts, it takes like 3 hours in MOP remix.
Questing wod has great density and hubs, lots of rares and treasures to pick up along the way. At 35 you can queue for timewalking when it’s up, but not having your entire talent tree and tier buffs is going to be an issue for survival out and dps. It starts feeling a lot better in the 59s as a tank again. In between queues for quests in wod till 58-60.
Once you can do DF, you should be able to jump over and start some quests but don’t turn them in until cap for better Ilvl. Just continue to spam TW to 70. It’s the fastest exp/hour outside of a dedicated farm group to power level.
There are a lot of variables, but 6-8 hours seems reasonable.
Its faster in Pandaria Remix and it takes you 10 to 70. No time on the Dragon Isle required…for the next 20ish days.
Also, I think Chromie time goes to 70 now also.
If you’re a new player, I don’t suggest Remix, to be honest.
I read that Chromie time was supposed to work up to 70 as well, but I’m 65 and Chromie does not give me the option to join another timeline… bummed out…
