there is no reason to use dagger in classic to rogue
backstab can be used only behind and it is very uncomfortable
i want to backstab in front of enemy
than less damage(like 210>150)
and when backstab behind 30% critical
backstab require too high limit than other skill
i want to change in this mechanism
can i have your stuff?

I think they changed it in TBC right? Only Ambush required daggers?

Backstab not for solo unless gouge or stun.
No issues with being behind target in a group setting. 
Backstab from the front? You’d have to be standing pretty close to someone to backstab them from the front, almost like you’re coming in for a hug but just stabbing them instead, overall I’d be pretty uncomfortable doing something like this.

There is a backstab with less damage and no crit bonus you can use from the front without daggers. It’s called sinister strike.

No, its called “BACK STAB” for a reason, to use it you need to learn how to Rogue efficiently.
