The really sad thing is the lack of communication from this company to its paying customers.
08/19/2018 09:24 PMPosted by SerenichiMaybe they will fix it during maintenance. I also wish they would fix our night and day cycle. I'm tired of running around a dark Kul Tiras at 3pm in the afternoon realm time.
The sad thing is im just getting used to the lag
I too am seriously over constantly playing WoW in the dark. It seems that Blizzard really doesn't give a smelly one for people playing (and paying) on the Oceanic servers.

I'm relying on memory here, but I seem to remember that we had all our events set to one standard time - Stranglethorn Fishing, Darkmoon Faire open/close, and even day/night cycles - because there were people server hopping for these sorts of events. Eg. server hop to the first instance of the fishing tournament, attempt to win, wait until the next one is about to begin, server hop to the next one, etc.
It's not a satisfying enough reason to me, especially if it was over a few STV fishing wins or DMF arena brawls, but I am fairly sure this was at least one of the reasons for normalising everything to one set time. Sucks for us, especially when the fishing tournament is 7am on a Monday morning :<
Working as a senior engineer for a global IT company with a core focus on cloud and hybrid services where these types of load/performance issues are common, I would suggest at this point the relevant Blizzard teams well and truly know the source of the problem, so I am not sure if there much further value in providing information.
The real issue for Oceania customers is whether they can actually mitigate or resolve it in a timely fashion, or will just choose to wait it out until connections naturally decline over the coming weeks. Very similar to the current AH issues on higher population realms discussed at https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/17616976922?page=21#post-406 , there appears to be fundamental scalability issues with some aspects of their systems architecture, which would no doubt be difficult to address without a disruption risk to their gaming services.
I would say that internally they have already made their decision - in such cases the understanding of the core problem and related decision factors generally does not take that long - they would have access to tools that show their compute/storage/whatever is getting smashed. It's the design, development, and deployment of the remediation that is the challenging part.

This is still happening! The morning and early afternoon today was a lot better (probably just because it was Monday and a large portion of the player base was at work), but as of approximately 5.30PM AEST it has become unplayable again.
Currently on Nagrand Oceanic, in Nazmir as Alliance Non-Warmode.
How much longer until we get response with some information Blizz? How much longer do we have to be your test subjects? Fix your game already! It's been almost a full week of this garbage and all we have had is two blue posts asking us to run more tests!

I'd say today is close to the worst it's ever been since the xpac dropped.
I just literally spent THREE MINUTES in demon form after the timer ran out. Then I nearly died from trying to glide off a cliff because my DH wouldn't start gliding. Then I talked to an NPC to travel on the caravan to akunda's temple in vol'dun and spent a couple of minutes sitting on the back waiting for the game to catch up.
Looting is practically impossible, characters rubberband all over the place.
It's unplayable.
Fix it.
Edit: Lag seems to only be in Vol'Dun tonight.

08/18/2018 06:33 AMPosted by EloemazHey all,
Thank you all for the continues reports. We are continuing to look in to what is causing this.
We have seen some reports that turning Warmode off has helped. When you do experience the high latency, please see if turning Warmode on or off makes a difference. If it does or does not, please let us know. If it does post if there was an improvement with it on or off.
I've not played with warmode on at all but my lag has been just as bad as the OP described it. Is currently that bad on dath'remar in vol'dun. But seemed ok in zuldazar. Although I wasn't there long. Just completed and restarted missions. But those usually lag severely when this issue is occurring.
It's probably something to do with our locations, because not everyone in our realms experience lag that's a fact.
I've already checked with my internet provider.
As I levelled I had constant lag, my friend did not, she just listened to me complain about it the whole time lol
I thought instances were safe, but just now I had 1200ms in a normal dungeon. Had to leave.

Suddenly the lag has just escalated for everyone in chat/guild from annoying to unusable. What is going on? Can someone from Blizzard confirm they are doing something about this?!
Vol'dun is horrid, seemed much better until i headed out there!
Yep As soon as I hit Vol'dun the lag started, and oh boy is it bad
I'm in Vol'Dun too, and I've basically camped myself behind a pillar near the starting zone for Alliance because my lag is so crap, everything takes 10 seconds to do anything
It was only Vol'dun and Nazmir earlier but Drustvar is now getting quite bad.
The world lag is somehow getting worse.
I have to say i rather like the war mode design, i just wish i didn't have to have it on constantly to avoid lag whilst leveling up. The gank squads are out and about every night now and it's become very bothersome and more than a little tedious, especially when you're constantly being bumped off by players that not only are much higher in level; but also knowing that most likely they didn't have to face similar adversity during their leveling experience does rankle, especially when taking into consideration that just over a week ago we didn't have to worry about game breaking lag or unwanted pvp interaction as Saurfang was a pve server.
In the early stages of war mode on pvp my leveling partner and i fought back in the spirit of the game. I've taken a break today but watching my partner get repeatedly ganked by lvl 120's was very disheartening for both of us to where the current status quo is now we don't bother fighting back against impossible odds as it just wastes more time.
It's very sad that 'war mode on' has become a hive of scum and villainy so early on in this new expansion - not that i can't understand that it might be fun to crush some lowbies from the opposition's point of view - but constant camping by some is ruining the leveling experience and dragging it out far beyond what should be reasonably expected as enjoyable pve content.

yea, so laggy now! Can't even move!!!
It not just world lag I did normal freehold and was lagging like crazy
Still not fixed, still no response...
