Ability/Loot Lag on Oceanic Servers Despite Normal Latency

I was really looking forward to Shadowlands, but this server lag is maddening! And what’s worse, it’s the exact same thing we experienced at the start of Battle for Azeroth.

it’s insane that this issue is still ongoing, Surely you can afford some server techs to go out and investigate the server issues!?

To Everyone posting data and winMTRs,

Stop wasting your time, they will ignore this like they did the last time until concurrent numbers drop and then claim its fixed.

This is a carbon copy of what they did in 2018.

Ignore OCE since we literally do not matter to them, we could literally all quit en masse and their bottom line would be unaffected.

Was logged on earlier this morning to do some stuff and things seemed pretty good. No doubt it will get bad again during peak time this afternoon, again reinforcing that it’s related to load.

Blizz please throw us a bone here. At least let us know whether you are investigating or not.

Did i do it right?

This is just speculation on my part seeing as Blizz hasn’t given us any information, but it seems they’ve opened up sharding in other geos to alleviate the load. I’ve noticed a few times during peak that my latency has been up around 200ms but the server lag has been negligible during these times. Still notice it a bit when my latency is at the normal 40ms.

So I’m guessing the higher latency is when I’m on a shard that is perhaps west coast US, but the server performance is much better.

Yaya this can affect everybody, at any given time. This is completely random on my part. MS stays fine but sharding really messed everything up for 2 years. They know, theyre just avoiding talking about it.

I have noticed the same thing, and I can admit disconnections are happening less frequently (albeit still happening here and there). I wish a Blue could at least come here and say if/why theres an issue and what they are doing to resolve the issue (or even say too bad so sad if theres nothing), at least we would know where we stand or what to expect.

I dont know why I bother anymore… but I hope someone blue is looking into this.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Well after maintenance (and im guessing the influx of people for Season 1 start), I havent been able to log in for more than 3 seconds before being disconnected again with WOW51900319.

Ive reinstalled Windows and right now only drivers, wow, discord and chrome are installed. Bought a new network card, opened ports, disabled all firewalls, security etc and issue persists. reset all network gear. All addons disabled etc. Im sorry but nobody can tell me its not the servers and the load they are receiving. Any other game i had installed before the format had no issues at all, with constant low ping (8ms for servers in same state).

So Blizzard, what is going on with Oceanic? Right now this is hot garbage for us and your silence is deafening, unless you count the one Blue Post in the Oceanic forums advising us you are increasing the sub price. Right now im paying for 3 seconds of gameplay…

On Aman’Thul at the moment in Maldraxxus and every time the world boss spawns the game basically becomes unplayable.

The same thing happened during the pre launch event with the rares, so the real question is when are we going to get horizontal scaling of shards based on load?

Tonight the game says my home and word latency is 24 but takes 20seconds min to get a response lol…

Can’t even log in anymore, but it doesn’t matter because the game has become unplayable. Beyond a joke now, completely pathetic. Why aren’t you replying, @blizzard?

C-O-M-P-E-N-S-A-T-E us for the unplayable game you’ve delivered. On par with the RDR2 launch, tbh. Blizzard obviously aren’t familiar with Australian Consumer Law…

How about getting someone to look into the 519 disconnect error too?

Oh boy Mald is a shizzle show this week…

Is this basically how this expansion is going to go?
Two years. One of the four covenant zones unplayable each week as the boss rotates?
Oh boy can’t wait for it to be one that’s actually populated.

Can confirm that Maldraxxus is really bad this week with the world boss up. There’s times where the input lag is longer than a full GCD - sometimes it’s even approaching 2 GCDs worth of delay!

Oh no. Oh no… So I notice this issue has been horrendous since SL launch, then I come here and find out it’s a known issue for 2 years and Blizzard doesn’t gaf. That really sucks.

This issue comes and goes on Saurfang, if servers even matter these days. i.e. I was playing yesterday with no trouble, then massive input lag suddenly began and it’s still there now, 16 hours later. 2-4 seconds of nothing when looting, sometimes also in battle. It destroys playability and then… disappears.

Between this and random disconnects when dismounting, WoW is very unstable these days.

Server lag continues in spite of normal latency.
Flappy bird world quest almost impossible because it randomly goes unresponsive causing you to fall. Horrible player experience.
Present to some degree in all zones but far worse when the world boss is there or a calling is there.
Please fix
Much Love.

You see how many posts there are in this thread? This problem was there at the start of BFA and never was solved. It “went away” a bit, imo, because less people were playing toward the end of the xpac.
Today the game was basically unplayable at worst and bad a best depending on zone for me. This is morning/lunch time in Oceania!
Latency remains perfectly normal.
