Adding my WinMTR since that was asked for previously. This was collected literally minutes ago in Vol’Dun on my DH. Started to get the combat glitches, then got stuck in mount form, then when it changed back 5 minutes after dismounting I mounted again and was able to run at mount speed but with no mount visible. In addition the DH doublejump worked in that state and I was able to reach areas a normal mount jump couldn’t reach, meanwhile still maintaining the speed.
My character is at this moment sitting at the Vulpera Hideaway waiting to sell some trash to the innkeeper. I clicked on the innkeeper 5 minutes ago and the trash is still sitting in my inventory, greyed out like it’s waiting to be sold, but no gold has been added to my bags and the items can’t be dragged around my inventory.
Spoiler alert: There’s nothing wrong with the traffic between me and the server. Worst hop in the route shows an average of 47ms ping, and the worst is 584ms. Less than 1% packet loss average across the route.
Characters experiencing issue: all of mine (but look at Thecheat since I play him the most)
Realm: Turalyon
Zones: All BFA-enabled zones (i.e. Kul’tiras, Zandalar, Arathi, and now Darkshore)
Server Time: Any time (though the effect is most pronounced in primetime)
I’ll also say that I’ve been experiencing this issue since BFA’s initial launch and, generally, it did not get any better or worse with the release of 8.1.
One more thing guys. I tried going into warmode to see if it would help (maybe less people in the same shard? Idk.) but it did help! Tremendously. It felt smooth again. It wasn’t perfect 100% of the time I still felt it a little but it was way better!

I was experiencing extreme world lag while doing WQs last night, specifically ability usage delay, even when there were few or no other players around. Later that night between 11:00pm - 12:00am server time I took both my Rogue (Cainyx - Lightbringer) and Druid (Furleaf - Lightbringer) to Drustvar to complete the invasion and experienced little to no world lag despite the zone being packed with other players. My Rogue has a full custom UI but my Druid currently runs no addons and from personal testing this had made zero difference, I experience the world lag on both despite the fact that my ping never deviates much from 50 -100ms.
Character name: Khandis
Realm: Lightning’s blade
Zones: Orgrimmar, all BFA zones, especially when horde and alliance invasions are out and I am in that zone.
Server time: When horde OR alliance invasions are out and I am in the zone, doing world pvp.
Same issue as everyone else. Everything is fine on my end (50ms to Chicago data center, 90-100 to Cali’s), every other game is working fine, including Blizzard games.
Characters: All of them.
Realm: Proudmoore and Area-52
Zones: Stormwind, Orgrimmar, all BFA zones.
Server time: Throughout most of the day. 3-5am seems fine outside of invasions.
Not only do I experience the same lag as everyone else, I also seem to get an issue where ‘combo’ generation (combo points, holy power, etc) only occurs after an enemy death. So I can Crusader Strike an enemy 5 times and generate no holy power. But when the enemy dies, all the HP I would have generated appears all at once. In addition, on three occasions my XP gain has stopped completely, quests have become turned in and yet stay in the log and on the UI…a relog fixes these extra issues, but they’ve all occurred during these laggy periods (which is most of the time.)
I’ve had this issue continually for the last few days while trying to level my alt.
Character: Hoofsy
Realm: Stormrage
Zone: Stormsong
I am not lagging, per se. My ms is 76 home, 55 world.
What’s going on: Mounting gives me the buff and speed of the mount, but I am not visually on it. I run at mount speed, and when I go to attack something, it tells me that I can’t do that because I’m mounted. Right-clicking the mount buff and removing it allows me to attack. Quests take ten ages to accept and the exclamation point will stay above their head for ~5-10 minutes before it counts as accepted. Kill quests work fine, but anything requiring me to pick up an item or perform an action takes ages. Combat takes a long time to leave. Feigning death can occasionally drop combat, but will not always (this caused me to lose a challenge character I’d spent 57 hours on, I didn’t know about the issue then!!) - and the animation for it will happen about 5 minutes later randomly as I wander around.
Everything else seems to function relatively normally, so the game isn’t -unplayable- but it is extremely tedious and annoying. Restarting doesn’t fix it. I’ve tried the above recommendations of manually choosing your graphics card in the settings, as well as the reduce input lag check, and nothing has made a difference.
Other guildmates on varying characters in varying zones report having the same issues lately, and I have seen my fiance on his computer across the room having them as well in a different area than me. We are on varying Warmode settings, too.
Edit: I just died for the first time with this happening, and ran back to my body. Clicking accept still left me technically dead, unable to attack, and the screen was grey visually… but mobs can still attack me and kill me AGAIN with me not being able to do anything. I could run around, but that was all.

I’m running into the same issues as above, mounting gives me the buff and speed, but no visible mount, Quests take ages to accept and complete, anything requiring items takes an age, and combat is very buggy. I’m leveling a paladin and holy power cannot be gained while in combat.
Interestingly, the holy power does show up eventually. Any time I successfully kill an enemy, I gain all the holy power I should have earned all at once, and I take a chunk of damage. Then it’s back to being bugged once I spend it.
I’ve also discovered that vehicle quests act very strangely. I’m attempting to do the Heavy Artillery quest in Stormsong and found the Experimental War Machine not only cannot shoot the enemies in the distance, but its shots actually destroy itself, kicking me out of the vehicle after a few shots.
Needless to say, this lag or whatever it is has made questing impossible.
Can confirm this issue for me as well, its extremely annoying since I am mounted but mounts dont even show up, and my spells animation is like invisible … so disappointed in BFA.
This is ridiculous, Blizzard. This has been going on for over two weeks now. I can’t even play the game because I can’t equip gear, move things in my bags, or mount properly. I feel like you owe me a free month after this, yeesh.
Seriously, I have been a customer since just before TBC, playing and subbing whenever I had the money. I won’t complain about the content of this expac–I think it’s just fine, and most oft he complaints are because Legion was the best expac that came after the worst and now people are coming off a high–but the bugginess of this expac is beyond belief. Please, fix this and fast before I give up.
PS. This has been on every character. I play on Wyrmrest Accord. The vast majority seems to take place in Kul Tiras/Zandalar, but I have experienced it in minor amounts in lower zones as well. Everyone I have spoken to experiences the same thing, and it is clearly on your end, Blizzard.
Mutilate / main attacks in general work, but neither finishers nor combo points are registered. Also had an instance where I would release after dying, stay dead, yet be able to be attacked but not able to attack any enemies until ~20 seconds later.
I am experiencing some pretty bad world lag (delayed abilities and looting) right now while doing the Scrimshaw WQ in Tirigarde Sound despiote my ping being < 50ms
