Ability/Loot Lag on North American Servers Despite Normal Latency

They are full of it - I play with absolutely no addons on the game. I’ve done the Advanced GC setting trick and the 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 trick for the latency issue and I’m still getting lagged out and DC’d. This is complete crap! Blizzard please help us… or at least address it.

I am also experiencing lag, mounting, combat, etc. It seems to only happen when in Zandalar or Kul’tiras. In instances I have no lag, my MS and FPS numbers are normal. It’s bad enough to where it discourages me from playing. I use no addons

Same issues. No chi on monk, no mount when summoned, if I eat my character sits and acts like she’s eating, the food disappears, but no health increase, no health increase out of combat (I’m presently standing in a quest hub, out of combat, looking at my half full health bar that hasn’t moved), global cooldown takes forever. Super annoying. Restarting helps for 5 minutes and then it goes right back to laggy.

CRZ and Sharding kill this game, all the lagging behind skills and loot … Blizzard don’t care !

Taking 2-5 seconds per global is not fun at all, no matter if i’m picking flowers, mounting up, fighting mobs, looting mobs, taking flight paths, shapeshifting I always get input lag to the point I want to log off. Is it so hard to acknowledge that there is a problem as that would make me feel a little better. I don’t recognize blizzard anymore.

Similar issues here. I’ll cash quests, and it’ll say I received an item, but it’ll still show the question mark and the item won’t appear even some 10 minutes later when I finally relog to try to fix it, to similarly no avail. I can’t even sell items unless I use someone’s mount in an instance, as only in instances does the lag not make the game unplayable.

It’ll sometime be 2 seconds after my GCD shows itself refreshed before I can actually make a second move. And I’m only at 41 ms ping. This has never happened before 8.1.

i have all these issues, my biggest problem is when bloodlust is casted i start lagging hard, feels like 1 FPS, the dps is still there but im just hitting different random buttons cuse i have no idea whats going on, never had this issue before

So I have waited to post anything about this lag figuring they would post something or fix it neither have happened so here is the post.
The lag since 8.1 has been just awful I would like to do the little that was added.
Is this a new form of timegating?

Ok I’m stuck in demon form… float while mouned… FPS is fine, latency is normal… even someone beside me can see me in demon form infinitivly

I’ve had the same issues ever since Patch 8.1 hit. Not someone who writes into Customer Service for small problems, so I’ve only just now submitted a ticket, but I’d had terrible lag ever since the day of the patch.

Oddly, my FPS remains in the “green” optimal numbers, while my MS skyrockets to 1000 the moment I log in, before then jumping anywhere between 300-500.

I’ve looked through all the articles, reset my UI multiple times, and checked my graphics cards to make sure they’re within the accepted “series.” I have also followed the steps noted above in System > Advanced.

None of this has solved the issue.

Same issues since 8.1. Lag in combat, mount lag, item lag, etc. A few times the lag has been so bad my druid forms bugged and I couldn’t shift out of flight form til I logged out. Please fix this. If it persists I will be done with the game.

I am experiencing same thing but it seems particularly bad in places like Org. There is a constant 1-3 second delay on everything. I also have the problem whenever I change my graphics settings, my game locks up and I have to use task manager to shut it down. Also, the portal from Darkshore freezes the game also. What is the deal with BFA - nothing but constant performance issues.

I’m also having this issue, and judging by the amount of views this thread has got so are a lot of other people - I would encourage those going through it to post even if it’s just to say “same”.

My story is that I live in Australia but play on an NA realm. My normal latency is 170-190ms - this is normal for me and I can play the game fine with it. Since the patch and the small update after maintenance I am logging into my normal ms then within a minute it’s up to 300, in another minute 600. In dungeons/raids its even worse. Without a tunnelling service I am getting between 1k-6kms, with a tunnel it’s “only” spiking to 2k.

Another thing I have noticed is that lag seems way worse than it looks. I used to be able to play the game, raid and do dungeons, at between 200-400ms without lag really being that noticeable, but now 300ms feels like 1kms does.

Finally, on an Oceanic server I normally get 12/12ms. Today in my investigating I found I was getting 56/56ms. I dream of having latency like that on NA realms, but I realise for Oceanic it is actually a huge increase from what is normal for me there.

Just seems like there is no escaping this latency nightmare that always happens for me after patches without fail. I go through all of the troubleshooting steps and try any tip I can find to improve the situation but nothing changes until magically it just goes away, at which point I assume Blizzard did something on their end, but who really knows?

Dear Blizzard,

Your game, World of Warcraft, is badly broken as outlined above by numerous players/customers.

Please fix.

Thank you, and Happy Winter Veil.

Update: have updated both my graphics drivers–I have two, one Intel, the other Nvidia–and confirmed that both are not only supported, but up-to-date, going by year. Have also ensured that Windows 10 is up-to-date. Went into System > Advanced and switched to my Nvidia driver as stated in another forum post.

Since updating just about everything on my PC, I get up to about 1000 MS in the field, and up to about 3000 to almost 5000 MS in a dungeon.

None of the “solutions” have worked–if anything, I seem to be getting even worse lag than when the issue first began.

Update: finally managed to resolve my issue and close the ticket I had opened.

Many thanks to Tech Specialists Zoddariss, Amekyno, and Karshaw, and to Tech Game Master Dantilin for their time spent and for pointing me in the right direction!

The lag has been consistently poor since 8.1 dropped. Worse in raids or high PVP zones, but it’s getting to the point where it’s unplayable. Tried lowering settings, updating graphics card, Windows, etc. Checked my provider… Noticed folks in my guild crashing out more and dealing with latency issues too. I do think this is a legit issue and I thank Blizzard for their time and attention to it.

What was the solution?

I had to go in and re-check all my drivers to be sure they were up-to-date (some weren’t, according to the date of the driver, so I downloaded updated versions from the manufacturers’ website). Per Blizzard’s suggestion, I also took a look at my home network and found an issue on my end that needed fixing.

I have all these problems as soon as 8.1 hit. Rezzing and its hows me sitll dead, cant use abilitys and mobs can still attack me and I die again. Invisible mount. Random lag spikes.
