Ability to mute sound emotes: Why remove it?

EDIT: Apparently the option was moved and I couldn't find it, my thanks to the one person who posted the solution. Move along, nothing to see here.

Why did Blizz remove the ability to silence /laugh, /cry, etc emotes?

Seriously, now...

It was so awesome, not having to listen to 50+ characters simultaneously crying or laughing because some chucklehead decided it'd be funny to throw down toys that cause these emotes. It was also nice to not have to listen to NPCs constantly laughing or crying, it was just so nice.

Why did they ever remove the ability to turn these obnoxious sounds off without having to mute EVERYTHING?

So now, on Moon Guard in Ironforge, because obviously, anytime there's 50+ people, SOMEBODY has to think "AH-HA! I'll set one of these stupid annoying toys down just to annoy everybody!"

*sigh*

I hate having to mute my entire sound system just to keep my sanity.

EDIT: As an aside... WHY, after the choo-choo train fiasco, do they keep making the blasted things!? They KNOW how freaking ANNOYING they are, but yet they keep making mass sound emote toys. It just boggles the mind that somebody at Blizzard thinks this is a good idea that should be done...
I miss the train.

They didn't. Turn your sound off. You're welcome.

I don't want to have to turn my entire sound system off JUST to get rid of ONE subset of sounds that we were once able to mute in the options menu.

There was no reason this had to be removed.

In fact I said this in my OP if you had any reading comprehension whatsoever, you might have actually noticed that I already addressed this, so how about actually reading? Kthx.

Lashing out at others won't bring them to your own way of thinking, but obviously, you must be a progressive, since they behave the same exact way.
Muting other player's sound effects would be absolutely amazing tbh.

I'm only calling him out on failing to read the post, and failing to understand that I already addressed why his post is pointless before he even typed it.

I don't want to turn my ENTIRE SOUND SYSTEM off JUST to mute ONE small collection of sounds that we were once able to turn off through the options menu.

I'm not trying to bring others to my way of thinking -- if I were doing that, I would demand that such sounds be removed. No, I want a way that I can be happy AND they can be happy at the same time. If I can mute the emotes on my end and keep the rest of my sounds, I'm happy, and they can still hear the emotes (God only knows why they'd want to hear that) and they can be happy at the same time.

What, again, is wrong with this?

Why is it that you can't do anything to solve the issue that YOU'RE having, but instead, you seek to make it so that nobody can do something that you detest. Maybe, it's because that if someone is doing something that you don't like, even though you have the ability to make it not affect you, you still know that it's going on, and it must be stopped. Yes, the progressive is strong in this one.

Lack of immersion

Excuse me?

My proposal would not stop you from enjoying the toys.

My proposal, allowing me to mute JUST the emotes, would totally fix things on my end while not affecting you in the slightest.

And there is no way for me to solve the problem, other than to turn the ENTIRE sound system off, which I don't want to do. Why should I have to, just to stop people from purposefully trolling and annoying me with obnoxious sounds?

Lack of ability to troll, grief, and annoy other people, you mean. Try getting it right next time.

That's, like, 99.999999% of what these toys are for. They are for trolling and annoying people. Pure, plain and simple.

And besides, me muting the sounds limiting my own "Immersion" should not affect your immersion whatsoever. So, again, why would you be against that, again?

Literally no idea what you're talking about, beings you can still mute emotes.

I've gone ahead and taken a screenshot to show you where to find it in your interface.

That's strange, they must have moved the option. I looked for quite awhile and couldn't find it and assume that it, like several other things were removed.

I had taken a 2 year hiatus and came back a couple months ago and saw several things I once was able to do were removed and assumed this was yet one more thing.

Apparently they just moved it or something. *grumbles*

Thanks for at least being civil and actually posting the solution, though. Far better than some other people in this thread.

The sound is part of the toy, and if you take that away, then you take away that enjoyment. I also noticed that you did see on solution to your issue, and another is to do something else at a different location, since it's a big game. Perhaps, you could join a group and transfer off the server, and away from the annoyances, but you only want to take away from someone else, instead of thinking of the best way to solve YOUR issue. Definitely a progressive here.

This is amazing, because your posts are anything but civil, but you want others to be civil to you. How about treating others that way first. Just because you don't like the solutions that someone else has, doesn't give you the right to be snarky, and you did write in a snarky manner, since they will respond in kind.
I think it's flipping hilarious cause 99% of you are standing on the present s an not doing your thing , so to scatter the roaches I throw down some raid/ tickle tots XD
I love how everyone bashes this guy because he doesn't want to hear Choo Choo every single second his running a dungeon with randoms. And your defending the trollers by saying they have a right to use there toys? LOL. You guys are more troll than the one's in game spamming stuff.

Glad you found the option to disable it, i had to do it myself today for that very reason.
