Ability/Loot Lag on Oceanic Servers Despite Normal Latency

Khaz here for me.
Ok in open world for me, however, I play with WarMode on.
Terrible for my wife who plays with WarMode off.

Pretty horrible in BGs as well.
Barthalis.

Horrible lag.
2-4 second lag between spell casts / moves. stealth ect.

hopefully fixed soon.
Nagrand/Cael.

Not in all zones, Logged back to do army of the light emissary on an alt for rep and its fine.

However in Drustvar, horrible, horrible lag.
Nagrand here. It feels like 800ms latency in Stormsong Valley even the game shows only 33ms. Fix this problem please.
Saurfang, driving me crazy. Feels like 1000k+ but showing 100ms
Howdy!

We are currently investigating this issue and need more information to narrow down the problem. When the issue is occurring please run a WinMTR to host IP: 103.4.115.248 for 10 minutes. Post the results back here within code blocks </>. Other information we would like to know:

- Does this latency only occur in Battle for Azeroth zones or anywhere in game?
- When the latency is occurring what does your Home/World latency report. You can see this by placing your mouse over the red question mark next to your bags.

This information will help us greatly! Just make sure to collect it when the issue is at it's worst and during the time frame stated.

Thank you!

I'll do this right now cause it's becoming a absolute joke.

- Does this latency only occur in Battle for Azeroth zones or anywhere in game? Anyway

- When the latency is occurring what does your Home/World latency report. You can see this by placing your mouse over the red question mark next to your bags. Still a solid 35ms on Word and Home.

Yay, thanks for the response!

I will run this test as soon as i can, but in the meantime i will report that in my time playing over the past 2 days, i have noticed that the issue is much worse on the Zandalar continent than it is on Kul'tiras. A few hours ago Kul'tiras felt almost normal in comparison to Zandalar.

I have not spent any time outside of the BFA zones recently, so i cannot comment on that, but i do know that a few friends/guildies have mentioned that the Auction House seems to be very laggy, so assuming that they are not using the Brutosaur Auctioneer, that may indicate the issue is not isolated to BFA zones
Will run test at first available chance.

It occurs for me in BFA world zones, dungeon or instanced content runs perfectly.

Also seems to disappear very late at night, might be a bandwidth issue at the datacentre during peak hours.

Only BfA zones for me.
Latency is under 200ms for both world and server yet I still lag.

Update on my end - i have run the test while playing, however for the first time in a couple of days, i experienced no lag! Gameplay was normal. This was in Zandalar, specifically Zuldazar.

I am going to assume this is because it is currently very late oceanic time, so outside peak hours. This may also mean the results posted by others before me experienced the same, and the data may not indicate any issues.

I have not posted the results of the test, i do not believe it indicates anything abnormal, but i have saved the result to a text file anyway. If anyone thinks i should still post the results, let me know.

For now i am going to go to bed, and run the test again tomorrow when/if it is laggy again.
It is obviously server load in BFA areas.
World/Home at 15/15, up to 2 sec delay in outdoor BFA zones.

Instances are fine.

What is concerning to me is they keep asking us to test our connection to the servers, when we are connecting to them just fine.

It is like they aren't listening to us, or people are describing it poorly.

it is 100% the servers that are hosting the outdoor BFA world having capacity or request problems.

Our inputs are reaching the servers just fine, the server is responding to us just fine, its just that whatever it is doing internally is the problem, but that problem is still being sent to us just fine.
I have only done BFA content on oceanic realms since BFA release so I can't comment on whether it happens in old world content.

I'd like to point out that I ONLY experience this lag when I toggle warmode OFF. Multiple people in chat on FM have confirmed they have no lag issues with Warmode enabled, but have it with Warmode disabled.

Inside dungeons and in BFA world content with Warmode off, it can go to !@#$.

Have done LFG pugs where we all ended up on oceanic and we all get the lag at the same time.

We can chat, but the world typically freezes 3-10s at a time.

World content with Warmode off sees long looting delays and the old classic running at mount speed without a mount and no NPCs loading in until it catches up 10 seconds later.

Latency numbers do not change at all during this.

Strongly indicates a server / backend issue, not a pathing or external network issue.
Zone : Stormsong (this alliance toon) from around 6pm-11pm server time, server side issues with looting, quest hand ins etc.

Taking upwards of 20 seconds to loot a creature.

Get into a dungeon instance - and instantly, no issues with looting or any game play.

Exit the instance - and bang, can barely do any quests.
npcs are not showing at the end of some quests. now some people are needing to relog to fix that. hope it helps with the lag......... problems being fixing too lol
I think it's the excessive sharding / crz that is happening on Kul Tiras,(why is forced sharding / crz happening in a new expansion anyway? I'm about to quit this game for good if this keeps going.) since i only see people from my connected realms in Zandalar, but when i go to Kul Tiras it's every damn Oceanic realm thrown into there in all 3 zones. ( Warmode off)
I want to see people on my sever or guild members not cross servers

I'm seeing it occasionally in horde zones from 6pm till 10 or 11pm, but it's definitely worse in the alliance zones.

I don't have a saved MTR from during the problem window, but I did run an MTR without seeing any glaring problems and so I doubt they'll say anything beyond "it's not the connection"...

For me personally it's not "zomg 2 second lag", it's more like playing at bad US latency (~300ms) but without needing to pre-cast abilities (e.g. can refresh buffs late, they'll just drop & then reappear at same stacks). I have avoided playing during the worst of it tho, because feels rubbish.
server are getting laggy from 1pm-11pm I have noticed. The past 4hours even npcs are jumping around or not showing up without logging out. other people are having the same issue so please don't tell me to delete stuff etc. please give the servers a good kick and reboot them.
