Aberrus difficulty

The sentiment for the raid they believe that this raid is easy and if that is true then it should be the mainstay for future raid design philosophy. So that the entry level aka normal mode wouldn’t be inaccessible for the general population.

The raid is fine albeit feels really short. There are just some weird boss placements.

The hydra should be the first boss and Zskarn in his place. Zskarn on any given level is way harder than that dumb hydra.

Thematically the raid feels weird too. For being an abandoned laboratory, we fight so few actual experiments. I’d remove the Djaradin personally and replace them with experiments with similar mechanics.

iirc a lot of the plans for magmorax fell through/ couldnt be applied in time so thats how we ended up with a training dummy boss way late in the raid

That would explain a lot

Mm… Well, the experiment section has the Shadowflame and Dracthyr experiments, the entry way has the Hellsteel experiments. The assault is well, the assault and behind the door is the Battery for the lab. Then we got the overseer kinda guy, then Nelth’s pet dog with worms, a spoiler not-Neltharion Neltharion and then Sarkareth at the darkest part of the lab. So far, only really the Assault encounter is weird but eh… They had to do something with big hands-little heads somewhere.

I’m aware. I just feel like they really just phoned it in. This is Neltharion’s top secret laboratory and I feel like we should of had like 3-4 wings of 2-3 themed experiments going haywire.

Like let the Hydra be the guard dog guarding the entrance to the lab and then 3-4 branching paths of experiments ending with faux Nelth and Sark. Yes that is more bosses but I feel like it is more than fine because raids are feeling too short as is.

The placement is very weird. I feel like we’ve only ever wiped on Zskarn, Echo, and Sark.

I’ve gotten slack for saying this, but Abberus normal feels like a Classic raid. Half the bosses require little to no dance mechanics.

I don’t see that as a bad thing at all.

I like the current difficulty, but agree that it is a little short.

More bosses would have been nice, not a more tedious experience.

More boses?

9 is more than enough IMO

most of us like to have a raid night, not a raid week.

Anyone who wants to spend more time @ Aberrus can always do Mythic version of it.

My raid group died to the hydro last week and we were all like “wth is wrong with us tonight”

Y’all should probably not DC all at once or something.

Though I think we did too. Maybe. We die to stupid stuff all the time though which is mostly funny and the amusement alone is worth it anyway.

I honestly like it. I like that bosses don’t take more time to explain than to actually fight. I like that there isn’t a convoluted mechanic that everyone just cheeses with a weakaura anyway. Fun, honest boss fights.

Magmorax is a nice pause and a moment to take a breather between Zskarn and Neltharion.

My only complaint is that Sark feels like a sudden increase in difficulty compared to the other bosses; at least on Heroic he was. I’d have preferred a more linear difficulty curve than the sudden spike we got.

Both raids have been rather underwhelming, imo. My opinion may change once we start heroic but :woman_shrugging:

in mythic, there seems to be two “walls”
rashok and zskarn but I feel the rest is tuned pretty well.

Normal has been glorified LFR for the longest time though where the only main difference is someone having to make a group. Mechanics still don’t matter most of the time barring tanks actually dying to busters.

Didn’t Normal Anduin STILL not have the downstairs phase and that was far from an “easy tier”.

This is a better failure mode than why am I even here?

Especially from a healer perspective, on NORMAL difficulty which shouldnt matter ppl should be able to zug normal.

Normal Anduin had the shadow realm. What made normal Anduin the broken pile of donkey he was was like 90% the light and void clash mechanics which destroyed you even on normal if messed up as well as the domino effect it had meaning your shadow realm team didn’t have bodies to get enough of meter or upstairs team couldn’t clear his healing absorb bomb.

Then next big hurdle was coordinating CCs on the fear spamming adds and killing them in sequence before overlapping mechanics got you.

This is, assuming of course, you had the raw HPS/DPS to handle him in the first place.

Anduin was clearly meant to be an end tier boss.

Magmorax should be been buffed but the players lose their mind any time that happens.

For many players perspective their care for “balance” ends at nerfs only.
