Abandoned orb and ancient beacon

Does anyone know what these are used for? sides a 2-minute buff that has butterflies floating around?

I used an orb yesterday to activate a pump at one of the water spots. A sunken treasure chest rose to the surface & I was able to loot it. The pump was sparkling when I had the orb as though it was something to interact with or I likely wouldn’t have figured it out.

OP is talking about small orbs found around ZM called Abandoned Orb.

Interacting with these will grant you a Bearing the Light buff. They always spawn near an Ancient Beacon, and the buff will allow you to interact with it. Upon interaction the Ancient Beacon will spawn lots of butterflies around it for a while, and apply the buff Drawing the Light to you which does the same, before returning to its original state.

I suspect this may be related to obtaining Schematic: Serenade, and with Zereth Mortis changing to night (https://imgur.com/a/jbCc7FI).

Activating all 4 beacons simultaneously had no noticeable effect. An attempt was made to do so with each person having a different buff from Golden Spotlight, Ethereal Spotlight, Viridian Spotlight and Sky Spotlight, but a mistaken duplicate buff was obtained, so this should be attempted again.

1 beacon and orb pair was removed during PTR, so there are now only 3 .
