When Abandoning quests, unless you manually re-select the next quest (even if it shows up as selected), you will not abandon the highlighted quest, but will abandon the last quest in your quest log.
ie. if you want to abandon all your quests for a zone, after you abandon the 1st one, even if 2nd one from that zone is highlighted, you’ll instead abandon the last quest in your log. (which happens to be class quests for me, and a real pain to redo every time…)

Just happened to me, except my last quest was a dungeon quest involving killing all dungeon bosses (3 hours)
This has been happening to me for all of Classic, I don’t think anyone cares.
I found something saying Quest causes it but the post said it was resolved in 2017, I guess it was re-introduced in Classic
Still happening in 2023, not sure which addon but I’ve heard Questie is invovled. I am also using Elvui.
