AB Queue is steadily creeping up- 15 min+ (streamline rewards?)

Hello! I’ve noticed that as people have finished getting their reputation (whether its WSG, AB etc), the queue times for horde have been getting quite long. I have AB/WSG/STV faction/rewards maxed out, so for me its all about finding more games to play, regardless of rewards.

One cool feature in Phase 2 has been the ability to convert blood coins for honor, and to convert them for AB rep. What if this could also work in reverse (you can turn in AB tokens for blood coins/silver)? Basically, the goal here is to incentivize both horde and alliance to keep queuing these battlegrounds even after hitting reputation cap.

Yes- shamans are absolutely busted in PvP right now, and I am sure that is also a big reason alliance are “under-represented” in battlegrounds. But what if we simply incentivized these players properly to show up? My working theory is that many of the most elite alliance Pvp’ers have simply stopped que’ing entirely (because they hit cap), but we could potentially bring back these players, if the rewards were tuned/modified.

To be clear, I am not asking for new fancy PvP rewards, I just want the rewards linked, and maybe add some silly SoD themed cosmetics to the WSG/AB/STV shop, that would give these high end players a reason to queue.

Shaman being busted is 100% the reasons people aren’t queueing. It’s worse than premades phase 1. If you want alliance to show up, make shaman as bad as paladin.

It’s absolutely because shamans are busted right now. Alliance have more players while Horde has longer queue times is a testament to that. Games are always stacked with shamans and everyone talks about how it isn’t fun at all any more to do BGs because of it.

Nerf Shaman and bring back premades.

This is not complicated.

Multiple reasons.

  1. Most people have grinded to Rank 5 by now (don’t need the honor so aren’t playing BGs).
  2. Better Reputation source in STV BM event (200 rep per 1 Silver) compared to 10 rep per 200 resources collected. If rep is bumped up to 100 rep per 200 resources AB would be popping often.
  3. Shamans are broken right now leading to less Alliance queues.

I keep hearing shamans are so busted, but I’ve only been in one AB where there were more than 3 of them.

And even then it was only 5, and we got 5 capped and camped in our graveyard by 8 Paladins.

The “Shaman Boogieman” argument does not hold water.

It’s also not AB or WSG weekend. That is likely the biggest reason.

My queues as Alliance are instant, and I’m not queuing again until Shaman gets a nerf.

Deny it all you like but you can’t deny the queue time.

I don’t mind shamans being strong. I haven’t been queuing because I just have so much else to do, personally.

I guess I probably should. Also, fwiw, there’s currently an average wait time of 1 min. for AB for Alliance.

:woman_shrugging:

You probably aren’t going to see a direct correlation between number of shamans and winning. It’s an effect that happens over time. Similar to how people who get skin cancer on their face tend to get it on their left side because the driver’s side of the car is on the left side and that has more exposure to sun. You can’t point to a single instance causing it, but over time it amounts to something.

Shamans being overpowered has caused the less casual players to flee the BG. Faster queue times for Alliance means less committed players and longer queue times for Horde means more committed players. Eventually you get to the sorry state that we are in right now, and it started with Shamans being overpowered.

Bro this ain’t it , one it’s mid day, two no one wants to queue AB when one blood moon event is worth 2 hours of AB games. And the AB rewards are absolute piss.

I want to queue for AB to have fun, but it’s not fun when you lose over 90% of games. I assume horde is having a blast in AB because they are always winning, or if they aren’t then they are in an interesting competitive game.

Yeah… this here.

Why do 20+ minute AB for 200 Rep per win and 130 rep per loss when you can farm 10 Dudes at the boss alter for 200 Rep… with some comps getting 8000 rep worth of lumber (or whatever the alliance resource is) in a single 30 minute STV event? lol

(It also doesn’t help that AB exalted doesn’t give you anything this phase or next, so there’s not exactly a rush.)

Hopefully they will actually nerf Shaman soon

That will alleviate a lot of the issue

Yeah, but people would do STV + AB if AB wasn’t miserable.

Why do the Horde want to do AB but alliance don’t? Both factions can get coins.

That’s very anecdotal evidence. By contrast, I main(ed) a rogue and used to spam bg’s every day. I’ve stopped since this weekend because it’s just not fun with how classes are balanced at the moment. Instead, I’m using my time leveling an alt. So I’m sure the leveling buff since Tuesday has had an impact as well.
