I am a Restoration Shaman. Every time we assault a base, I notice people just cap and run, much like the days of early Alterac Valley. As a healer should I stay and solo defend a base or should I be following the herd which just chases the honorable kills? I personally stay to defend and watch the map and call out incoming attacks.
When I say I am a healer solo guarding a base I either get ignored or sometimes someone will come to guard and no sooner do I leave they lose the base. Tired of losing and or getting no honor from kills because of defending. So what is your opinion, am I suppose to follow the herd or defend?
Tough choice there. Screwed either way. Honestly I would just sit there to defend, and wait for people to start complaining about lack of heals, and then tell them why you can’t heal them. They’ll either make up an excuse, or someone will come defend.
In AB - you need to be either on flag defense or offensive healing. If players stop to fight anything on a road - ride off towards a base and call for them to fight on the flag
AB was zero fun last night - for either side. It was either bad premades of trade chat heroes, or it was full premade on the other faction as a solo queuer.
I never EVER thought I’d miss retail pvp. I loved BGs on private servers. This is just simply awful.
I ran some premades and only lost once to a warlord group that must of wasted a ton of gold on consumables. lol All good, if you really wanna win, why not go all out.
I also pug’d a few games and we won 65% of them. Ended the night at 2100/3000 rep wise.
Currently there are only 4 AV games up and 20 AB and 8 WSG. I think blizzard is hiding something from us. LOL
Remember they split East and west servers into battlegroups too. So that should cut the number of people roughly in half. Not saying there hasn’t been a drop, but the split is a factor too.
Yeah, I won some lost some…it was probably about 50/50. It just wasn’t fun. Even the games we won. It felt like everyone (both sides) was just running around lost. Like AB hasn’t been around forever.
I dunno. Just wasn’t fun. Also, I think I might just swap to the pally fulltime for PVP. There’s literally nothing that can be done to stop them in WSG/AB.
Last night I was literally just defending at stabs and I could hold off 2-3 people from capping the flag with grenades, auto attack, holy shock, and then bubble myself/bop myself.
It was really REALLY stupid. Also, I need to find out if being on top of the stabs is okay. I was up there tossing grenades and holy shocking and got some spam whispers I was BeInG rEPoRtEd.
I would always just follow the monkeys. If there were a couple of people staying to defend I would stay and try to hide so it looked like they didn’t have a healer around; when the flag got attacked I thought the surprise heals helped out.
Players are way better now. You can’t have someone without a pet or able to get out of stuns/cc guarding.
I had a druid pop out and rocket helm me and sleep my pet. If I was close to the flag he would’ve been able to cap it no problem on anyone else. I had a rogue use sap/blind but once again… I never stand close to the flag and being 40 yards away… that doesnt really work. =)
I think a healer is best at fights and not defending.
I agree. The problem is that most people are too selfish to defend. Assuming there’s not many healers, which is true of most pvp, they need to be pushing to support the offence or the heavy defense when it happens.
I agree and especially on alliance side. We lack healers… those priest and pallies you see are shadow and ret. They don’t have their heals keybinded.
Will add you. Are the queues fast enough we can try and group queue? I’ve been thinking of transferring him to Herod - he’s on a different account.
I just hate to leave DD they need more players not less.
They are fast enough we should be able to group queue. If not, hell yeah… come over to herod. My guild is actually looking for more healers for their 2nd and 3rd raiding groups.
Healers need to be where the action is taking place. So assaulting a flag or defending an invasion. A dps or tank class can guard a solo flag, and if they don’t, your teammates will yell until someone does… but that someone is never a healer, no.
My server can not put up a premade that can compete. We are as close to a random pug as you can get. Most of the time we can field about 3-5, sometimes 8, very rarely 10 and now 15 is a miracle. The classes usually are what every want to go. We usually lack a druid, or mage’s most of the time. Healers can be a issue another portion of the time. So it’s just what it is, getting farmed by premade in our grave yard, and 5 capped and farmed in our starting graveyard.
