AAAHH! Which tank do I main?!

So I leveled all the alts and got all the mogs. I’m a don’t-have-time-for-Mythic raider and happy M+ dungeoner.

I mained Prot Pally in BFA. I’ve played a bunch of plate and cloth classes, mostly, over all expansions.

I’m looking for anyone excited about their main tank pick for SL to speak up and tell me why they are excited about their class choice.

be a rebel go bear druid show them what for

I prefer brewmaster monk and prot paladin myself.

Brewmaster’s active mitigation now is passive (Funny, that) and they are imo super tough and have a lot of mobility

Prot pally… they’re just fun, and pretty stable with a good “oops” button.

I’m enjoying bear tank. Their swipe is OP. And they are easy to quest/level with.

M1A2 is a very solid tank.

They are super tanky, if you get them geared, go into a bg and flag camp the mid flag. It’s ridiculous. They might not be as good now, they were at one point.

+1 for depleted uranium armor, but until then I’m gonna stick to already in the game.

what is your team? Go brewmaster if you are melee heavy and have no monk
go DH if you are spell heavy and have no havoc
Go DK if you have no battle rez
go paladin if you don’t trust your team not to screw up, hah
Go bear if you’re a rebel

Edit: forgot warrior

Go warrior if you like waiting till the last part of an expansion to be good again

Prot pally main here from BfA as well… have you played SLands pally yet? its freaking epic fun. A bit quishy, but it does a boatload of damage and is butter to play. Not to mention 100% uptime on mitigation.

Bear is looking solid, low dps but tanky AF. I’m going pally to start because its soooo fun. Once the first season ends and class balances happen, ill figure out if I want to move to another class or not.

pally is best all around its looking like.

blood dk is great for raid survival.

Veng DH is high damage and good for m+

Bear is low damage but tanky as heck.

and monk is monk, it staggers, what else do you need really! :stuck_out_tongue:

not sure on warrior, heard they were facing dark times but cant confirm

If you enjoy M+ then Veng DH tanks are super good. Your sustain as a DH tank is largely correlated to ability to leech off AoE so its perfect for those 10 mob M+ pulls, plus you help your group push through dungeons fast because you’re the highest damage tank in the game

Glavemistake’s post is pretty spot on honestly.

I’m personally stuck between maining either brew or prot pally

I have 1 toon. only this one.

It’s Tanking or healing for me. mostly tanking.

I’m still undecided 1 week away from launch. someone please help!!!

Guardian and Prot both seemed to be looking very strong candidates but now I’m thinking otherwise :\

Since this thread’s here, and you’re here, how’s Blood in M+? I’m probably going to be the ‘when the tank is away’ tank for that, and I’ll be using Blood - was wondering if it’s any good for fast-paced M+ content.

Yeah it ain’t bad

I’ve been testing out paladin, druid, warrior and monk in my own sort of way. I narrowed it down to paladin or druid and think I’m going to go with the druid for starters. I just like it a little more even though paladin has a little more utility and helpful tools.

Not looking great early on. Warriors struggle early in expacs since they are so reliant on secondary stats. Expect to see them rise to #1 in future patches.
