… Wat? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

  • We called it ā€œChoregastā€ for a reason.
  • Just about everyone I spoke to said they wanted to get the Maw over & done with and leave ASAP. :joy:

Personally I find Dragonflight is way better than Shadowlands.

  • They both however, suffered content drought or poorly conducted content patches, so I’d say in that regard they share similarities.

But in terms of the content itself, the dungeon designs and especially the story? Dragonflight takes the better cake — Easily.

this is about the meta achievement - not the expansion overall.

shadowlands meta achieve for veilstrider was fun whereas the DF A world Awoken is not

I wonder how many people are aware blizzard added a shadowlands meta achievement at the same time as the dragonflight one and the requirements for it are SIGNIFICANTLY worse.

Awards

The Back from the Beyond meta isn’t technically new. The legacy version was time-limited, hidden in Feats of Strength until you completed it, and the criteria was revealed in 9.2.5 (I think a similar timeframe as the DF meta with about 4-5 months to finish before the next expansion release). They added a new version of the now unobtainable achievement to expansion features in 10.2.6 and added a mount reward, so I guess at least I get to keep my unique title for completing it prior to Dragonflight and I was able to ride the mount on day 1 of the patch.

Like the A World Awoken meta, it’s meant to take time to do over months or years, not in a week or two, although the Shadowlands achievements are significantly easier to do now with a max-level character. And a meta-achievement indicates you played most aspects of the game to some extent, so it would make sense that it has so many elements to it.

Taivan cannot even fly.

Pathetic.

No one wants to grind for years.

Do you even listen to yourself?

I’m missing four more objectives to complete AWW. I’d say the worst ones are the Forbidden Reach small treasures and scrolls. The small treasure spawn rate could use an increase and they should last a little longer after a player has looted one. The scroll one just seems unnecessary to me. Reduce the number of scrolls or remove it entirely :grimacing:

You don’t have to grind so hard when it’s over the course of the expansion. You do a couple things a week. Set a time limit of an hour a week, whatever gets you through. People trying to do it in week are grinding.

Feel free to look through my achievements from this expansion. I HAVE been working on achievements for the duration of the expansion.

I have several achievements that AREN’T part of the meta. Why? Because the developers are capricious and arbitrary.

Why don’t I have the meta achievement? Because Nat Pagle’s cataloging quest shows up 10% as often as the stupid balloon ride one.

Why? Because the developers are terrible at their jobs.

I completed that achievement a year ago. Sorry you are having a hard time.

Why is the forbidden reach meta objectively more time consuming/harder than all the other sections? Should be more equitable imo.

Every single other zone you only have to kill a certain number of rares, but for this one you have to kill them all. And then all the scroll, treasure hunting.

I’m at the point where I’m either collecting Tuskaar Tackleboxes for sea shells or preying the hunts give me my last bakar customization. And elemental storms, I guess… and I’m really far behind in reputations.

I actually don’t mind only seeing two elemental storms (during my window of playability), but having to sit there for upwards of 30 minutes just to see the same storm rare spawn is brutal.

If it’s not fun, don’t do it :dracthyr_shrug:

Achievements are challenges and challenges are… well, challenging. They take time and effort to complete. That’s kinda the point.

Some will take more effort than others. Many people enjoy the challenge and some like how long it takes/how difficult it is. It’s just personal preference.

I’ll never understand how someone playing an MMO can try to justify removing something simply because they don’t like it, without stopping to consider or care about the millions of other players who may like/enjoy said content.

Just don’t do it, it’s not that big of a deal. I want the mount, sure, but I looked at the list of stuff to do and decided not to do it because it requires dungeons/raids which I do not enjoy.

If it wasn’t for that, none of the other stuff would bother me at all. I quite enjoy those grinds.

The real challenge is interacting with MMO players.

Especially when their name is Stabmcstabby. How can I interact with people when I’m too worried they will stab me when I turn around? :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

Sorry, BilboGankings was already taken. Doesn’t really help my case, but I digress.

As long as you don’t have some troll continuously killing the threshers before the group gets them onto the shore, lol.

It would have been nice to know which inane mind numbing tasks I had to do for this achievement ahead of time. Especially when over half of it I had zero other reason to engage with at the time.
