A weapon no one dare talks about

So we always hear people talking about Xal’Atath, but no one ever talks about Xal’Atoh. What’s the deal with this weapon? I learned that there is some sort of being living inside of it and it whispers to the wielders crazy gibberish. It’s not the same person who is in Xal’Atath, this person has a manly voice and is much more darker and evil and twisted. And it wants to take over your soul.

Wasn’t that one just an echo of Yshaarj whispering generic Old God stuff to you?

Quoted from WoWHead’s comments:

Seems interesting I wonder if Y’shaarj is speaking through the weapon from the outside. They are already hinting heavily that he isn’t dead in the way we think he is. The black goat is simply in the forest

Given that it’s the weapon Garrosh wielded after being empowered by Y’shaarj’s heart, I’d say that, yes, it’s pretty likely that it’s Y’shaarj’s voice.

I always heard those whispers as Garrosh’s voice. Y’Shaarj makes more sense, but it’s more fun to imagine Patrick Seitz screaming at you from an axe.

Xal’Atath is a weapon they tried very hard to weave into prior lore events. Giving it a lot of agency and influence.

Xal’Atoh is an axe that’s basically had one appearance, Siege of Orgrimmar, and nothing else historically. For all it says, it might not even be fully sentient.

Since Y’Shaarj was the only Old God confirmed to have been killed by the Titans before deciding they had to imprison the rest, it is entirely possible he could be the big bad of a Shadowlands Expansion (yes, please). Maybe the Goat, the Sha, the Heart, and the Talking Axe are ways his spirit has gate-crashed into the realm of the living to influence events here.

Good lord i laughed imagining this.
Talking about fun, sometimes I misread your name and I read Grandbalde. It’s funny because in my language balde translates to bucket.

You are Grandbucket now, gratz
