[A] Want Val'anyr and good with recruiting?

Seeking someone who is available Tuesday / Wednesday afternoon (ending before 7 pm Pacific) or Sat/Sun afternoon.

I am an experienced raid lead and have 14,000 hours in game as well as 2 80’s with 2 more on the way. I haven’t been satisfied with any of the teams I’ve grouped with on Old Blanchy nor can I really make their raid times anyways due to working nights.

Long story short is that I know the game very well but am not real good socially or with recruitment. I’m looking to form a team from scratch and can reasonably promise Val’anyr as payment for helping me get the team off the ground.

Goal is to get Yogg + 1 or even + 0 in a 6/hour week schedule (and hopefully less).

I have a lot more details planned but I want to keep this message short. Post here if interested.

Very interested!

What’s a discord or whatever I can contact yah at, and what toons yah got?

You can reach it me at It#8566.

That’s my discord.

k should be done if you wanna delete that.

interestingly enough the letters lowercase didn’t work but uppercase did?

I don’t think I got your friend invite, or you could leave yours on here. I can add it right away and then you can delete it.

There’s a description in general chat of what I’m looking to create.

So what do I want out of Wrath classic?

–I can’t make the raid times of most guilds on Old Blanchy
–Even if I could I think a bunch of the teams are gonna get wrecked in hard modes. They’re taking like 4+ hours to clear Naxx. (IMO should be 2 1/2ish.)
–I’d like to lead it myself if possible, that would be fun
–I have very specific ideas of how raids should be run
----My knowledge of dungeon encounters is excellent (and it drives me bonkers to be in more casual guilds that are wrong in their understanding of how game mechanics work).
----My knowledge of most classes is quite good
----I do a lot of research on what’s coming up, for example the contested loot items in Ulduar

I have a specific level of sweatiness I like…raids should be like a business seminar or college class
–Everyone is attentive and focused
–They start and end on time with scheduled breaks
–It can be fun and interesting, but the real reason people are there is the satisfaction
–The person leading the class/seminar/raid isn’t yelling at people
–If people aren’t contributing meaningfully they’re coached up or coached out
–People are expected to show up prepared
----Fully enchanted, Flasks, some potions, weapon mods, spare gems and enchants are helpful
----Not trying to burn thousands of gold on Flame Cap or clamweaving or whatever to increase our speed run time by an extra tenth of a second
----But occasionally using expensive consumables when we need to get that extra 1% for a boss where the team has worked out the mechanics
----Spending a reasonable amount of time outside raid to prepare, such as leveling professions, running daily heroic for badges at the beginning of a tier, doing Archavon, etc.

Old Blanchy is primarily West Coast so things don’t get going on the server until a little later, which is kinda too bad for me. Starting at 3:30 or 4 is definitely on the early side, but probably doable.

Loot: I am open to a few different ways of doing it, but it’s probably gonna be MS/OS just rolling.
–It HAS to be fast. The most successful guild I was ever in got US 80 Mythic Tomb of Sargeras, which was very impressive for a 9/hr week raiding guild. We used /roll for loot distribution. Honestly in 18 years of playing the game…well a lot of people aren’t as good as they think they are and I’ve seen countless raid teams discuss the nuances of ideal loot distribution only to pull a boss where people obviously have no clue what to do.
So if a guild can accomplish US 80 just randomly assigning loot, it’s strong evidence that time spent playing the game and learning the fights is far greater than min/maxing items. That guild was exceptionally good at using their time well and that’s what I want to bring to this guild.
–I will not run a Loot Council for several reasons. As a new raid team we wouldn’t have the cohesion to anyway.
–As long as we’re still pugging people, loot has to be MS/OS or something else really, really easy.

Times:
Over the years I’ve learned that if you’re pugging you basically have to go on Tuesday or Wednesday. So Tues/Weds 3:30 pacific or Sat/Sun if we make a concerted effort to pick up people that missed their guild’s weekly run could also work. My days are off Weds/Thurs from working nights but I’m trying to keep those free so I can drive to California or do little road trips from Vegas.
