You would see me questing or getting materials out in the world if I was queued.
I would say this is true.
I mean there is a fair share of toxicity and ninja looting that went on in today’s Classic, TBC and now Wrath, lets not pretend that ninja looting and being an a**hat is exclusive to RDF only.
Some examples… I had a mage that used Arcane explosion right off the bat when a pack is pulled in Slabs back in TBC classic and proceeds to complain that the tank is not holding aggro despite the tank himself is a druid tank and it being used without waiting for the tank to establish threat and was toxic.
Recently, One of affliction locks in my classic guild was running Heroic MGT to get timbal’s and by the tooltip, its bis for a DoT spec so a mage said it was trash but proceeded to roll need on it, Thankfully gave in after being oughted as a ninja looter and traded it to the affliction lock.
Your basing all this off your own personal experience though.
I had a completely different experience with RDF.
RDF helped me meet people, gear up to do raids, spam dungeons to learn my class and ultimately join a guild. Without RDF I probably would have hit max level and quit as spamming LFG was not something i was remotely interested in.
So from my perspective they are removing a function that helped me integrate into the game better.
Also hard agree, grobbs been getting zugged by smooth brain people who want to wPVP then cry when they get ganked. Bunch of bums.
Why do I want to look at endless spam in LFG? What if I simply want to queue up for something and casually do a dungeon, any dungeon?
RDF isn’t anymore anti-social than pvp queueing from anywhere yet we’re getting that. I’d say that rejecting pugs based on gear/class is far more anti-social behavior than using RDF where you don’t get to discriminate like that.
RDF doesn’t take away your ability to play as you want. Let others have their way of playing, stop trying to force everyone into your narrow vision of what is acceptable in an MMO.
This has to be the biggest red herring ever used. What server culture. All people do is spam LFG until they get what they need, run an instance then hearth or port out the moment the run is done. The only communication is call outs for encounters.
Stop hiding behind the culture or community excuse.
As someone already said, ICC is content not a QoL tool. We are talking about functions of the game client, not in-game content. How about the catch up to the actual discussion and stop trying to derail it with things that have nothing to do with the discussion.

Write all the numbers 1-n, where n is the number of dungeons you are able to do, on a piece of paper. Pin it to your wall. Throw a dart at it. For whichever number dungeon you got, list yourself in the LFD tool!

You’re right, they shouldn’t have added that. They should have made you go to the BG you want to participate in to be able to queue for it.
Some bad eggs exist. It’s our duty to call them out as a community and shame them. Saying “LF1M Ramps - mage” is the mark of a stupid and reprehensible player.
That said, the vast majority of groups aren’t like that! Gotta search one more listing down and go for that one instead.
If that’s the truth, then a lack of RDF doesn’t take away your ability to play as you like either.
I’m not! Blizzard is making the best decision for their own game. I agree with their decision, because it is in fact what is most conducive to a healthy MMO community!
Wrath Classic is running the 3.3.5 client from the start so the RDF tool should already be in the game
Indicating that everything on the 3.3.5 client should already be in. Which includes ICC.
If we’re arbitrarily drawing lines on which content from 3.3.5 should be included, then it just so happens both ICC AND RDF fall on the other side of that line
I like how your rebuttle is “classic isnt for you” when this was in original wotlk for half the expansion. You would be much better at debating if you didn’t insult people when they disagree with you or throw out jaded responses for no reason.
To me it sounds like you want people to play how YOU want to play and not how WOTLK was originally designed. Maybe you should spin up your own private server and you can make whatever changes you deem fit to the “classic” mold.
“Classic” WOTLK would have RDF at ICC patch. Which I hope it does.
