A vocal minority pushing RDF down our throats

That is normally what drives their decision-making process, it all comes down to short term revenues.

says we…

This statement should be framed.

There’s no point in making a poll. They’ve been done (in fact there were many aggregated here in May in a post) and people who moonlight as statisticians complain either that the sample size is too small, is tainted by the source of whose audience was polled, or is led to a certain opinion by the framing of the question. Then you’ll get claims like the OP that it’s a silent majority without any evidence.

They are a business. They make decisions based on revenues.

Have to keep those stock prices up for the following quarter to get Bobby a new Mega-yacht or a space rocket like Bezos.

Which means Blizzard is a horrible company for game design. Because they are. They have zero respect for their players.

This is why they only care about the financial whales and short term gains versus actual game/server health. They invest more in phycological studies teams regarding their in-game stores than keep a quality assurance team.

They surely are not my favorite developer lol i wish i loved another mmorpg as much as I like classic WoW.

Why do you think they do nothing against bots?
Why do you think they do nothing against queue? Other than offering free transfer (man they will make a lot of money soon on all those people trasnfering back)
Why do you think WOTLKC is coming out in the same quarter as DF?

Blizzard make decisions based on short-term revenues, not player enjoyment.

Ever seen that episode of the Simpsons where homer designs a car?

Blizzard resents their customers. Constructive criticism translates to ungrateful toxic customers in their eyes.

People: “I like this thing”
Blizzard: “Oh yeah? Well you’re a bad customer and don’t know what you like!”

Because you’ve somehow lied to yourself and convinced yourself saving 10 minutes walking to a dungeon is worth the destruction of classic dungeon culture.

Fortunately, the new summoning portal can be of use to lazy people like that.

This is so mind boggling to me.

i don’t get why you think pro-RDF people care about travel time. it’s about auto-forming groups so we don’t have to stare at a bulletin board or LFG chat for hours.

Boosting subs for quarterly reports and revenues.

So you would be ok with the auto-grouping tool, without teleportation, without cross realm, and without extra reward? I’d be cool with that.

To be fair, there are different preferences among those who want RDF. Some want auto forming, some want teleportation, some want x-server, some want parts or pieces of all the above, some want it now, some want it in the 3.3 equivalent phase etc etc. People really like binaries for some reason, but it’s a bit more nuanced then “this side wants x, this side wants y”

Bro nobodies advocating for it taking an hour to get to a dungeon.

Dungeons should take no more than 10 minutes for a party to assemble in front of. The only popular dungeon where this is a problem is Scarlet Monastery…

Nobody is advocating for summoning stones or warlock portals to be removed.

The pro RDF community literally has no arguments. The only legitimate complaint is that it can be hard to find a group…which is true and annoying.

But blizzard is updating the LFG system so… You don’t need RDF to solve that problem.

Please somebody explain to me why RDF is necessary. What problem does it solve?
