About Us
While many of our members and officers have been part of the Greymane & Tanaris community since Vanilla, Vis Major is one of the newest Alliance guilds on the server.
Coming from the Latin phrase meaning ‘Superior Force,’ Vis Major is committed to providing a raiding atmosphere for skilled, dedicated players who strive for success in and out of the raid.
Since our first raid on January 02, 2021, Vis Major has quickly transformed into the top progressing guild on the server with intentions to hit the ground running in 9.1.
While we are always looking for opportunities to improve our gameplay, at Vis Major, we strive to keep elitism and hate out of the guild and pride ourselves on our ability to offer players an opportunity to raid end-game content in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Raid Schedule: Our Progression Raid times are Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. CST. An optional Heroic Raid, which is often used to introduce new players to raiding, and teach them mechanics and teamwork before transitioning them to the progression raid is also offered on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. CST.

Our Expectations
At Vis Major, while we strive for perfection, we know perfection doesn’t exist. We accept individuals who strive as hard as we do while helping everyone do their best within our team, our extended community, and our server. We are interested in players who meet the following criteria:

Attitude: Vis Major is looking for individuals who are skilled, intelligent, and able to coherently form thought and communicate effectively. We expect maturity and professionalism; we are very interested in players who care as much about their guild’s reputation as we do. Members are able to cut loose and have a good time but need to know when to pull themselves together and focus.

Initiative: Vis Major is looking for individuals who continually strive to better themselves in terms of their knowledge of boss strategies and are constantly seeking ways to improve their character and play-style. Players who actively PvP and run mythic+ dungeons weekly to maximize their gearing opportunities and those who are open to experimenting with different gear sets and specs are favored.

Gear: Your gear provides insight to us as to how knowledgeable you are of your class and your willingness to put in additional effort into your character. While it is not necessary for you to have the best in slot items in every slot of your gear, it is expected that your current gear reflects the dedication you possess as a raider – that is, it is properly enchanted and gemmed.

Reliability: Stability is a hallmark of all successful guilds and it is very important to us. As we do not actively recruit alternate or backup players, all members are required to maintain a 75% raid attendance. Your computer and connection need to be able to handle both current and future content. If stability is not demonstrated ( personally or technologically ) we are not the right guild for you.

Respect: Vis Major strives to create a run, friendly, and welcome atmosphere. We require that all guild members, including members of its extended communities and raid teams, interact with and treat one another with respect at all times. Racism, sexism, homophobia, or being a straight-up jerk will all be met with a first and final warning or immediate removal from the guild.
What Raiders Can Expect from Vis Major
Vis Major leadership team is committed to bringing end-game raiding back to Greymane and Tanaris. Additionally, we offer many amenities to Raiders, such as Gems, Enchants, all necessary consumables, and 1,000 gold in daily repairs through progression content.
