Just a reminder, the Waycrest Manor currently has a quest up that lets you get the Vengeful Chicken. I believe this quest has only been active once before since the start of BfA so if you are a pet collector, you only have a day or so left to get in there and do it.
I seriously suggest you check out the details on wowhead first, as its a little bit fiddly.
I did it on Normal with my 120 hunter, a 120 DK and a 120 Disc Priest from my guild and we had no issues doing it, just the three of us. We skipped all the bosses though obviously couldnāt skip the mobs. But as I say, check out wowhead for the comments and methods. And make sure whoever is tanking stands on top of that damned chook!
You donāt kill them to get the pet. You have to let them get certain casts off in a specific order:
Wait for Roast Chef Rhonda to cast Raw Chicken - this spawns a Raw Chicken
Wait for Roast Chef Rhonda to cast Roasting Fire on top of any Raw Chicken on the ground - this results in a Cooked Chicken
Wait for Sauciere Samuel to cast Gravy Spray on any Cooked Chicken - this results in the Delicious Chicken (lasts for about 1 minute) which gives you the quest Cutting Edge Poultry Science.
If you go to wowhead and look up āCutting Edge Poultry Scienceā thereās a full walkthrough in the comments section.
If you do it in a group, I also suggest stacking up together. Just so all the casts from the chefs are cast on the same spot on the ground.
Iām actually unclear how the āRoasting Fireā is cast, for example, but I did it solo and never moved so all their spells were cast on the same spot of ground. If she casts āRoasting Fireā on players, then youād need everybody stacked up on 1 spot, where the chicken spawned. Easiest way to do it would be to just have the whole group stay stacked on 1 spot the entire time.
Thank you for this! I was able to easily solo it as Protection spec. I didnāt even have to kill the three chefs, just grabbed the quest and bubblehearthed out, though any other method would work just as well (including just dying and then hearthing once you release).
When I checked, it had 2 days left on the duration. It should definitely still be up. Perhaps you completed the quest already? If so, you can still get the pet, as the NPCs will still be there while the world quest is active.
The WQ is only for Azerite, however the NPCs for that WQ are the ones which allow you to get the quest for the chicken. (The chicken quest spawns if you meet the conditions while fighting them.) Thatās why the WQ is important ā these NPCs are only spawned when that WQ is up.
Yup, like Turandotte said, the quest only means that the NPCs needed are up for the chicken quest to spawn (inside the instance after completing the proper steps).
The actual chicken quest only spawns in the actual fight once the chicken is put on the floor, cooked, and covered in gravy.
I just did this as a hunter. There is a witch in the kitchen as well so, it can get complicated if you are soloing it. The witch that spawns there ignores camouflage but once she spawns, you either die and try again camouflaged all the way to the stairwell (they wonāt pull there) or MD to pet and run to the stairs and FD there (the witch will engage you about 3s after you see the orb, enough time to pop exhilaration on your way to the bottom of the stairs and once there, FD).
Once FDād, you can pull the executive guy using your pet and dps him down from the stairs. The witch wonāt get pulled but the other two will, at this point, all of the casts from the chef and the saucier will be on you so just try to survive as long as you can until you see an exclamation mark under you, click it and take the quest (you might want to MD at this point) go to the bottom of the stairs, FD again and when they reset HS out of there. (You could camouflage again to the entrance, it just takes much longer).
