[A] [US/OCE] M+ Community Beginner to Pro

PLEASE CLICK HERE TO JOIN

The TLDR is at the bottom of the post

Discord is available and we have had massive changes and updates to our server. Please check the community board when first logging in for the link.

PLEASE ADJUST THE COLOUR OF COMMUNITY CHAT. It is very similar to trade/general and a lot of people are missing keystones advertising/questions/help/general banter. MAKE IT STAND OUT

Welcome aboard Queen Anne's Revenge. QAR is a community solely based around M+ dungeons. While I myself am in OCE, US players are encouraged to join! Please hear me out in this one. Firstly, I see a lot of communities fail for 2 reasons. Lack of advertising and lack of players. The game runs 24 hours a day. We both have different peak times. There is no reason this community cannot run 24 hours per day. Also, some of us may score a day off work etc and may be able to log on during the day/late at night. With a combined region you will be able to play without applying for a pug and jump straight in.

I would like to designate a selected player from the US to oversee the community while we are on our downtime. Please do understand that if you do join an OCE/US group you may experience ping from 100-200+. As an OCE player who played with this ping for 10+ years it is doable and more than ok however, please respect other players if they decide not to take you!

What We Do
QAR was a decision I made when I started to realise pugging was working against me. I had a more than an acceptable ilevel for my key range, my Dps was great and I have awareness of mechanics yet, without a high 'raider io' score, I was getting denied frequently, even on +2 runs. I found myself at a loss. I've decided to create a community that help bridge the gap from beginner to pro M+ Dungeon runners. We also;

  • Accept new players who want to focus on doing M+ runs
  • Help push players onto the next level of difficulty
  • Assist with educating players on mechanics and strategies
  • Work on players raider io score if they so want
  • Create permanent teams
  • Assist in gearing up
  • Push high, low and medium level keys depending on player skill level.

Skill Level
I have decided to create four different levels of skill to help alert other players of what your personal skill level with M+ is and, what fellow party members you would like to run with. I’d recommend using addons such as raidbots, askmrrobot et al.

Beginner
Not necessarily a new player. This is a person who is running +0 to +3 keys. You perhaps may need a few pointers on mechanics and awareness of NPC mobs. At least please do a little research on key mechanics/boss fights before heading to a dungeon. These aren’t too hard at all so take advantage of the runs and get that ilevel up!

Intermediate
You are running +4 to +7. You are here to gear up and perhaps start to look for a permanent team. You have awareness of mechanics and you can play your class well. You should have started to learn the affixes.

Expert
+7 to +9 players. You have an expert grasp on mechanics, team composition and your class. You do not want leavers, you want dedicated runners. You seek to improve ilevel and push into 10+. You have a grasp on affixes.

Pro
10+ only. You have all knowledge of Dungeon mechanics, you understand interrupts, cooldowns and play near perfect. You want to push as high as possible.

Additional
As well as these four levels I believe it would be a good idea to post if you are ‘pushing’ to want to get to the next level of difficulty or if you do not want your raider io score affected and you want a more serious run.

Example
You’re an Intermediate player wanting to push into Expert but, don’t want your raid io score affected. In community chat simply type: ‘Link keystone, Intermediate push. Raider io.’ Yes, a lot of people use raider io. No, it is not a requirement. Please respect a player’s decision if they use it or not. Do NOT feel daunted by this.

Leavers
It happens, and I understand. Yes, it can look bad on you for leaving high keys thus ruining other people's run so, please have a legitimate reason. Also, please don’t do the old ‘I’m disconnected’ trick. It quite possibly will be the only time I ever make someone walk the plank if it is done repeatedly.

I'm Not Being Accepted into Groups

I ask that you all do not lose heart because this WILL happen. Understand that sometimes on higher keys specifically, some players will not take you due to not having a high enough ilevel. While I am trying to eradicate this sort of behaviour in this community, you do really need a minimum ilevel for specific levels of difficulty.

Other reasons can include; a lack of skill, lack of Dungeon knowledge, the other player is busy doing something else wow related or the party just filled up. Please don't take offense. Your skills and knowledge will only improve over time and remember, eventually you will be able to run with these guys, it just takes practice and a little time. Be patient and you'll be running high keys in no time.

What Kind of Players Are Welcome

ATTN Casual players:
Personally I feel the term Casual Player has a bad stigma attached to it. To me casual means someone who does not have as much time to play as opposed to a hardcore player. IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE A BAD PLAYER NOR HAVE LESS SKILLS THAN A HARDCORE PLAYER. The only difference is how long each day you choose to sit down and play. I only can play 1-2 hours a night if that and then more on the weekends. I'm casual myself and it doesn't mean I don't know how to play. So, ditch the stigma and join us. You are more than welcome to.

While most guild/community recruitments specify they will take anyone I feel it's best to let everyone know what is acceptable.
• Pure beginners to pros. Please at least read up the basic mechanics for any Dungeon you are unsure about or ask prior to a run. Wowhead.com has some great guides with boss mechanics and NPC'S to look out for. See: https://www.wowhead.com/guides/ataldazar-dungeon-strategy-guide.
• 'I only want to gear up then abandon ship' players. Totally fine with me. Some may consider it a selfish move but, let's be honest, we are all here to improve, push higher keys and get loot. While players like this will probably eventually abandon ship, they would have found similar skilled and like-minded friends to help build themselves a permanent team. Please do not harass or belittle anyone in this position.
• High key players. Yes, it will be difficult to recruit high key players off the dock however, to those players I say you are not required to help lower skilled, lower geared players in the slightest. You play the game you want to play. I believe if you do want to help, that's great. It will only help yourself in the long run as to these players WILL get higher ilevels and skills and you may find yourself not waiting for a party as long.

Expectations

I expect respect amongst yourselves and for decisions you make. You are adults so handle your situations accordingly, I truly don’t want to have to make anyone walk the plank. Please, M+ can get very frustrating when things go not so well. Instead of ‘Bur Asmodean u suk u stood in fire n corsed a whype', calmly point out what went wrong and say something more like 'hey Asmo, when the boss casts that AoE ground spell, you need to move out of it bro'. It'll make the experience a lot more fun, chill and educate the player so they can add to their skillset.
Please follow the ToS as well. This community is accepting of all people whether LGBTQI, straight, have a disability etc. I certainly won’t make anyone walk the plank ever generally. If someone reports you for bad behaviour, you can deal with the GM’s.
Community Chat

In chat if you are chasing players to help or want a specific keystone to run type “Link keystone here, skill level, role, (and pushing or raider io if that’s your jam.” Please also, chat amongst yourselves. I want to see spam when I log in. These are the people you are going to be running with so get to know them (you don’t have to if you don’t want to). A community is made by communication and without it, it dies as I have seen a few times before.
Feel free to ask other community members if they are interested in;
• Transmog runs
• Old raids
• Bgs
• Arena
• WQ’s
• Quests
• Grouping (for levelling and such)
Please just keep in mind that these are not our focuses, our focus is M+ but, the more you all play together the more you will feel comfortable and confident with each other.

Discord is available and the link to it can be seen in the community board when first logging in.

In Closing

Communities were created to be used as a tool. Use us. Get better and get nice upgrades and meet great people along the way.

If anyone finds the system too confusing, LET ME KNOW. I only created it so yourself and other players understand where you’re at and what you want to achieve. I’m open to changes naturally. Also, I’d appreciate it if you gave this time, it IS hard to get a community up and running and I don’t expect a flood of players off the dock.
While I have laid out this recruitment drive rather formally, I’m just some dude who really digs M+ and wants to group up with others who got stuck on the pugging treadmill and get good. I’m chill, relaxed and want not only to enjoy the game, I want you guys to enjoy it to. If you have any issues, just hit me up. If I’m not online, send me in game mail. I will be looking for exceptional players to take on a co-community captain role if they so wish. Just prove you can do it and let me know you’re interested.
Wit that be said, Queen Annes Revenge has docked in port n’ is lookin’ fer scurvy seadogs n’ flea bitten wenches t’ board ship n’ come get some loot when we set sail. Arrrrr. Ye be welcome aboard.

TLDR:

Mythic+ community aimed at improving skills, awareness and mechanics for all keystone levels.

Hey, I'm a returning player from mid-legion (not too long ago I know haha), my guild recently transferred servers and got absorbed by another guild who I'm not too keen on running with. I'm gonna be playing wow a lot more casually than I did before meaning I'll mostly be doing M+ instead of raiding, so I'm really interested in this! That being said, I haven't purchased BFA yet due to RL reasons but I will soon and would like to start getting to know the people in this community for when I hit 120. Hit me up on bnet with a link if that's all cool with you!

Sorry mate, moving house atm and forgot the most important part, the link... I've attached it to the top of the post. You are more than welcome to join. Welcome aboard!
Just bumping this up there for a great community that's growing fast. Welcome aboard everyone. Apologies for my lack of logging in but, hopefully the house move will be done after today and I can jump in and say hey and run some M+.
Just joined this group. Friendly people, looking forward to playing with them often.
Glad you made this, I just joined.
This is so well thought out. I've joined. Hope it takes off.

Many moons ago (in Wrath) an amazing Aussie on our server use to run a cross-guild raiding community that allowed many of us in little family guilds that we loved to see and experience content. Hoping this will be a similar space for getting into M+.
Such an amazing community already. I'm really impressed by the responses we've had. Not even 3 days in and we already had 48 players.

Community chat is alive and well. Lots of keys being run. I'm really impressed with everyone's positive attitude and the fact we're getting higher ileveled players helping those lower.

If ur reading this and need a community please sign up! Ditch LFG and stop pugging. We have such great players already with awesome skills, knowledge and an eagerness to help others.

For those already signed, welcome aboard and a massive thank you for joining. Spread the word! Let's make this a permanent tool for players seeking to do successful M+ runs.
A bump for any player, beginner to pro, to come check us out and join a thriving community. Our numbers are growing each day and plenty of M+ dungeons of all levels are being run.

So many great players and such a friendly community. I could not be more happier with the outcome. Welcome aboard Queen Anne's Revenge!
Happy to announce we have had 85+ players join us in under a week. Beyond any expectation I had. Please, check us out! The more people the easier it will be to say goodbye to random pugs and work on that io score, ilevel and skill.
link expired. hit me up in game if you reinvite

Would love to join but your link is expired.

My apologies guys. I've just created a new link and added it to the very top of the list. Glad to have you both onboard. Welcome
We're still looking for more people to help out build skills, getting a better raider io and help push to the next level.

A great community with some really awesome players. Please, hit us up and check us out!
Been looking for a M+ alliance community...
