A true mmorpg, ruined by the obvious

I never found it wierd. I always found it normal. What I find wierd is spinning out ammo like mystical thread out of my pants. That is wierd. I hate not having to buy ammo. It makes no sense.

Doesn’t it bother you that the ammo in your retail quiver never gets consumed?

Of all the unrealistic elements to get hung up on in this game, that’s the breaking point? How come my hunter can fire a flintlock blunderbuss so fast? Should be like 3-4 rounds a minute, max, for a highly skilled shooter.

Alot of things have been a breaking point in retail and it isn’t just ammo. But that is my way of recreating the vision in my head at least when I am playing.

It’s more of cope than anything because I did this long before classic was a thing to. Another trick I use is I hate not having stat sticks. My god do bows look stupid and derpy on a hunters back in my honest opinion. I truly do miss having a spear on my back with my bow in my pants. So I have a macro that swaps my spear to my back when I am in like a major city or something. Because I am not walking around org with a derpy bow on my back. It just doesn’t look good.

And i felt this way since pandaria. They constantly remove and alter all of these things that don’t really need to be altered. Heck they even removed the old overworld. Like why? There wasn’t any real reason to. I would gladly go through old org and quest in og vanilla content in chromie time If I could. But no. It’s to taboo for the modern community or whatever the excuse is. I just don’t get why we lack options in retail with each major expansion since cataclysm.

But that’s just me. I like having my ammo. I liked going and training stats and skills. All of those arbitrary things that you had to do that you no longer need to do now I actually miss doing. And i know I am not the only one.

And it does bother me a little that the ammo doesn’t get consumed. But, it is what it is. At least I have it. Retail has changed so much and so I kind of develop all of these things to make it seem like the changes aren’t really there. If that makes sense.

Same thing with the org music now. Why play the music that makes me feel like im in the barrens? Im gonna play the og orgrimmar music. Plain and simple. That way I feel like I am in org and not in the barrens. And yah I listen to the in game music. I like to actually immerse myself in the game. And having barrens music in org ruins the immersion for me.

I always find it funny how people think we can go back to how MMO’s used to be. Especially when it comes to the unknown, leaning and exploring aspect when we have the internet how it is today. Even new MMO’s are pretty much solved in a few days/weeks with all the early access, PTR, data mining patches and guides everywhere.

It’s not just the MMO genre that has changed but so have gamers and the internet as a whole. There is no way to go back to how it was in 2004 where no one knew anything. Everyone knows what an MMO is and you can never recapture that magic of playing one for the first time ever again.

One thing I’ll say I like about WoW’s seasonal structure compared to D3/PoE I don’t have to make a new character in order to partake in the new seasons.

I hate that so much. :weary:

I just don’t see the point in playing classic again if permanent wrath classic servers aren’t options. I liked that version more than anything and blizzard won’t let us have permanent wrath classic servers.
