Hello, after a thorough review of our logs, and thorough audit of all our gear before raid. We seem to have encountered a bug with A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity. The best thing i can guess is that perhaps the new modern tabard from Hodir worn by Dkdaniel bugged. I would like to get confirmation of what actually messed up our achievement run and if theres a way we can prevent this in the future.
We did this with a different set of characters last week, so we know the rules.

log we successfully did it with: classic.warcraftlogs /reports/hWX8TRbHv1ZqwgPF#fight=17
We looked up the logs for this, and the issue wasn’t a bug with the item. One of the players in the raid got caught with a 252 item on when a boss encounter began.
Wait a second, why havent you all given clear rules with changes? I had another thread opened asking for clarifying questions about weapons, crafted and/or badge gear. (Even pvp gear cuz i have seen logs with people getting it with 245 relentless cloak… so are 252 cloaks from ulduar okay to use??)
If you have replied or have something we can use as a reference that would be GREATLY appreciated
But 245 Boes shouldnt work… because they are items from TOC25….
It really shouldnt be a big deal for them to clarify, there is an old post from 2009 that did, and gear that was once 239 and allowed is 252 and not. (In some instances)
So idk why it can just be clarified instead of people playing games across discords and other outside sources. (They added clarifying language to Herald….h
Idk man the old wowhead posts are pretty accurate. Logs for dedicated insanity confirming badge/crafted 245 https:/ /de.classic.warcraftlogs. com/reports/PmHG9nrktdF7QfN2/#boss=-3&difficulty=0
You can look up the popular weakaura author who also confirmed it. This is a player from Razorfen on an achievement discord server claiming his group got it. Not to mention old wowhead posts confirm it. Take their word or not.
I’m also the one who wrote the original post you’re alluding to.
Warcraft logs would only catch it if they are in combat, so this confirms that for the achievement it begins tracking as soon as you talk to the guy to begin the encounter, NOT when you enter combat.
If you check the raw log.txt for the raid night, you can likely find the offending item yourself. WarcraftLogs ignores COMBATANT_INFO events for several of the fights, but they are still output by the game’s combat log. These are the events containing each player’s equipped items at the time of the ENCOUNTER_START event.
Thank you very much for taking time to review and answer this Kaivax. I truly appreciate you guys putting eyes on this and answering so quickly.
to some of the others in the thread, ya im very very knowledgeable about the rules, we’ve done the achievement in our other groups, and i did it back in the day, so i can answer any questions.
…Now if you’ll excuse me, i must go beat some raiders with their own boots.
