Guild: The Scarlet Covenant
Focus: Scarlet Crusade role-play guild
Guild Master: Lohengren
Faction: Alliance
Server: Emerald Dream (North America)
Headquarters: Cathedral of Light, Cathedral Square, Stormwind
Garrison: Tyr’s Hand, Scarlet Enclave, Eastern Plaguelands
Our Story:
The Scarlet Covenant RP’s a sect of the Scarlet Crusade that evolved from the more fanatical offshoots to bridge more friendly relations with Stormwind and the Alliance. We have resisted the tribulations that Balnazzar wrought upon our order and emerged victorious and immaculate after battling the demon lord’s corruption. Although we remain faithful to the original foci of the Scarlet Crusade, we have realized that our order can only survive the war to reclaim our Kingdom if we are to accept the assistance of the Alliance. We seek to reestablish our dominion over Lordaeron and cleanse the lingering undead presence still thriving there. We adamantly stand as a bulwark against all undead, Scourge or Forsaken, and the Banshee Queen Sylvanas. Our order denies any undead claim to lordship over Lordaeron, and any other Horde factions who ally with the undead are to be treated with equal hostility.
For those of you who aren’t aware, the Scarlet Crusade is a paramilitary force that initially formed from an offshoot of the Knights of the Silver Hand to fight back the Scourge and the undead plague that has ravaged through Lordaeron. They fiercely fight to reclaim Lordaeron from the undead legions of the Scourge and the Forsaken. If you are interested in reading more on the official Scarlet Crusade lore, you can read more about it on the WoW Wikipedia page or through other in-game sources.
For purposes of lore accuracy, the hostility exhibited by other NPC Scarlet Crusaders towards us is explained mostly by their corruption by Balnazzar. Officially, we have also aligned ourselves with Stormwind in their war against the Horde, as our interests in the conflict converge. We also wish to maintain healthy relations with other Alliance guilds (engaging in multi-guild RP/PvP events) whose aims coincide with our own.
Organizational Structure:
The Crimson Legion: The sword and shield of our forces and arguably the spine of the entire order. Members of the military branch will serve as the Covenant’s boots on the ground. The military branch will work closely with members of The Inquisition to plan and coordinate military strikes against our enemies. Suggested classes are Warrior, Hunter, Paladin, and Rogue.
The Magisterium: The scholarly branch of our order. The Magisterium is concerned with deciphering the arcane as well as R&D for weapons design and development. Suggested classes are Druid, Shaman, Mage, and Warlock (all Warlocks: please read the “disclaimer” in the Enlistment section).
The Apostolics: The religious sect of the Covenant. Apostles of the Covenant will oversee religious ceremonies and work towards establishing further lore for the Guild. Apostolics will be required to mend wounded crusaders in battle and are considered the clergy of the Covenant. Suggested classes are Priest and Paladin.
The Inquisition: A sort of reconnaissance, military intelligence, and secret police of the Scarlet Covenant. The Inquisitors of the Scarlet Covenant will be responsible for long and short-range scouting operations and information gathering/extraction. Suggested classes are Rogue, Hunter, and Druid.
Suggested classes are merely that - a recommendation based on what classes would typically join that structure. If a character can establish a realistic RP for joining the structure they prefer, they are more than encouraged to do so. For example, Druids will not be barred from joining the Apostolics if they can establish a credible RP as to why a Druid would want to join a Light-based religious group.

Ranks:
Upper Echelon
Grand Crusader: The supreme commander of all Covenant military operations and the first Crusader of our order. Our Grand Crusader, Lord Lohengren the Hallowed is the first of the new sect. A veteran of the Scarlet Crusade, he has seen the horrors wrought on by the Scourge and the Forsaken and vowed to fight against their corruption until his dying breath. He saw countless of his brothers and sisters perish to the undead Scourge during the evacuation of Scarlet forces from Lordaeron, and witnessed many more fall victim to the trickery of the Dreadlord Balnazzar.
High Inquisitor: General staff of Covenant military forces. The High Inquisitors will act on behalf of the Grand Crusader in the event that he is unable to attend to a matter. They will have most of the privileges of the Grand Crusader, and one who attains this rank is expected to take an active role in planning guild events. To be considered for High Inquisitor, members must show initiative in leadership and dedication to the Guild.
Lower Echelon
Commander: They act as recruitment officers and NCO commanders of the rank-and-file Crusaders. Commander is an overarching term for the general rank within the order, but individualized military ranks will be delegated based on the individual member’s strengths and interests. Commanders will be asked to aid in running the day-to-day operations of the Guild and are encouraged to take a hands-on role in guild leadership and planning.
Crusader: A fully-officiated member of our order. Crusaders are the sword and the spear, the bow and the arrow, the staff, and the ward of the Scarlet Covenant. All Crusaders are required to swear fealty to the Scarlet Covenant, to honor the fallen of the Scarlet Crusade, and to carry themselves in a respectful and dignified manner fitting of the honor of their title.
Initiate: A prospective member of the Scarlet Covenant. Initiates must first conduct a brief in-character interview with a member of the Upper Echelon. If they are accepted, they are required to complete one tour of duty before being officiated as a Crusader and becoming a member of our order.
Guild Aims and Expectations:
RP: Our Guild is, first and foremost, an RP guild. Thus members will be expected to participate in some degree of RP activity when called upon - the level of depth individual members wish to engage in RP’ing their characters is entirely up to them. Still, progression in the guild ranks will be primarily based on the quality of RP exhibited.
PvP/WPvP: Secondly, we are a PvP guild. Level 120 characters will be encouraged to participate in Call to Arms, World PvP, and battlegrounds. As the Guild gets more abundant, I aim to have an official PvP event scheduled every week. Any members who have insufficient item leveled gear need only ask, and your guildmates will do their best to assist you in. Remember, we are a comradely order; it is our goal to help our members succeed so that they may better enjoy the game and engage in PvP events!
PvE: While PvE is not an immediate focus of our Guild, we will assist any guildmate to the best of our ability in any quest or other PvE endeavor they may require assistance in.
Social: Aside from the aforementioned activities, we also wish to foster a welcoming social environment. “/g” chat will not require in-character dialogue, so get to know your fellow guildmates and make some new friends!
Enlistment:
If you are interested in joining the Covenant, the most convenient way to enlist would be to shoot me a message through the in-game mail system or apply via the guild search (we should be listed) to get the ball rolling. Please indicate what time you think you’ll be on to conduct a brief interview at our main base of operations (Tyr’s Hand in the Eastern Plaguelands). Work on a brief an in-character dialogue; about your character’s history, why you want to join the Covenant and be prepared to answer some general questions pertaining to your membership. Be sure to register for Discord, as this will be one of our primary means of communication during guild PvP events.
Disclaimer to Prospective Members: For obvious reasons, Death Knights will be barred from applying to the Scarlet Covenant, as we are a Church of the Light-centered Guild that opposes undead of any variety. Warlocks and Demon Hunters must have a thorough backstory to their character and somehow tie in how their use of Fel magic would benefit the Light-centric values of our organization.
It is also recommended that members make use of the add-on “TRP: Total Roleplay” for a more immersive experience, as well as to officially display titles and accolades earned in service to the Covenant.
