Wow. It’s been a day, Wyrmrest Accord. It has been a day. For those unaware of what went down, there’s several threads about it, but basically: Blizzard listened. They heard what RPers had to say, and they made a change in response to it.
First of all, I want to thank Tammya, on behalf of my entire guild. Your addon made what we do possible, and we felt its loss very severely. It was a very depressing few days in our Discord. Throughout this entire thing, you presented yourself with nothing but civility, intelligence, and maturity. That alone, is worthy of admiration. On top of that, you spearheaded the movement to bring back the addon we all loved, and you did it in a way that made people listen.
I also want to thank every single person who spoke up and got Blizzard’s attention. That many people, working together, effectively, on the internet… it’s something that should be acknowledged and praised. Every single one of you should be proud. I’ve never felt more secure in thinking that the RP community in this game, no matter the server, is a strong one. Not perfect. But when the chips were down, we came together. That says it all I think.
Now, for my proposal! Today, Blizzard directly addressed roleplayers, and made a change in our favor. Some may say it was too little too late, but this entire event has shown that civility and maturity, and POSITIVITY yield results. I was losing my optimism about the future of this game, and roleplay in it, this week. The Sha of Despair wormed its way into my heart! But today, Chi-Ji returned to us all, and we saw hope. Hope that we do matter to Blizzard, and maybe not all is lost!
That is why I propose that December 14th forever be known to the RP community as Red Crane Day. The day we remember that being on the internet doesn’t mean we can’t come together and make a difference!
