A targeting Macro that picks the nearest enemy?

Hi.

I have purchased WoW, and I´m finding that tabbing thru enemies is very annoying! The target selection is simply ridiculous: choosing far away enemies or even enemies who are behind me. I keep clicking tab, and am losing precious moments by trying to actually hit the mob that´s right in front of my nose, only to be foiled by the ingame targeting option again and again.

That´s why I´m writing this topic. I´d like to ask the community for a targeting Macro which will allow me to:

  1. Select THE closest monster or enemy the first time I click it… AND
  2. Allow me to cycle thru the next closest enemies in order of distance

My guildies seem to agree with me that the Blizzard targeting option isn´t very good. Can anyone help please?

This actually seems like a good idea. Which means that Blizzard designers will probably prohibit it saying its not going to be allowed in WoW.

/startattack

This is partly user error (I know, not what you want to hear). If you aim your camera down at approximately a 45 degree angle you shouldn’t have that problem unless you have it zoomed out really far.

Tab targeting is restricted to targets within your camera’s scope and it prefers targets closer to the center of the screen.

I hear you, and understand. I do have the camera on far out, and get headaches and nausea if I don´t - (I have bad eyes and no depth perception).

Thank you!!! I´ll try this command!
