A step in the right direction but

New Tuning Patch on reset:

      • Mind Blast damage increased by 10%.
      • Shadow Word: Death damage increased by 10%.
      • Void Bolt damage increased by 10%.
      • Shadowy Apparition damage increased by 10%.
      • Voidweaver: Entropic Rift damage increased by 10%.
      • Voidweaver: Void Blast damage increased by 20%.
      • Voidweaver: Collapsing Void damage increased by 10%.
      • Voidweaver: Void Flay damage increased by 10%.
      • Voidweaver: Inner Quietus now increases Vampiric Touch and Shadow Word: Pain damage by 25% (was 20%).

Pretty nice tuning for VW, I still feel like it’s going to need more but this at least brings it closer in line with Archon.

IMO, Collapsing Void is underwhelming and needs to hit ALL targets with the explosive and NOT split the damage. Over the course of about 6 minute AOE fight on targets, CV only did roughly 2.0% of our overall damage. Would be way better if it didn’t only do about 1.5 mil damage split evenly across all targets.

P.S. Tuning is nice but we still need meaningful changes

The 10% buffs to mind blast and SWD are a small sliver of what those spells need.

Yeah I was thinking 50%-100% on both of them is what they really need. If that’s not the route they want, then a larger buff distribution into our DoTs, mainly DP

Considering you only ever get 3-4 voidblasts off, this buff is questionable. Archon will still be more viable due to off healing, 10% haste during PI, double stam buff, and consistent damage.

They would have to revert voidweaver to the beta state and buff it again for it to be viable against archon.

Which is why we are all calling for a full rework to address our clunky class mechanics. Sadly I can’t help but feel they will simply tune numbers and call it a day.

You don’t have to feel it. They’ve been showing it for the entire last expansion, and now into this one, including the anniversary patch which was announced super early that has no substantial Priest notes.

As the great girl group Danity Kane once said, “Actions speak louder than words”.

Tuning is the best we’re going to get for a while. It won’t be until months from now when 11.1 comes out.

My first thought is does this only apply to Shadow Voidweaver or is Disc getting these same buffs? Voidweaver disc is already the highest DPS healer in the game, which it should be, but this will likely help it break into 400k DPS territory for M+ while evokers are in 300k and everyone is is in 200k. Could be interesting if that gap will be enough for disc to counter all the utility shaman have, especially with the nerf to Acid Rain.

Edit

Looks like it’s just for Shadow, disc still has a decent lead but atm it’s showing it’s DPS lead isn’t enough to overcome everything else brought by other healers.

I didn’t want to sound greedy, but yes, sw:d needed about a 30-40% buff, but only when it procs of course
