A Song for Our Future

Why design a major story quest where you have a second part that you can’t complete if you happen to leave early, requiring you to complete the first condition again?

Talking about “A Song for Our Future” story quest. Completed it in a Mythic+ group, so naturally after we killed Soul-Scribe and completed the dungeon, I left. Only to find out that you need to talk to Ve’nari inside the dungeon afterwards.

Now I have to do it again just to go talk to her.

It’s not a big deal, won’t take long to run through it again. It’s just carelessly poor design.

Edit: I run it again and complete the quest, only to find out that Blizz disabled the campsite because it was bugged. gg Blizz, L on two fronts. :joy:

Ya…

This is really amateur hour here.

Pretty sure Blizzard learned not to do this type of thing over a decade ago.

And I don’t blame what is most likely the new hire or intern that pulled this off, but their boss not checking their work… that’s a problem.

I’d change the topic of this post to the quest name.

Jump into the follow dungeon, bust it out in 5 minutes.

Or they assumed plyers were smart enough to realize the quest doesn’t have to be completed on a M+ instance.

Not saying it’s a big problem or that it’s putting me out in any serious way.

It is however an unnecessary problem entirely brought about by bad design. Don’t think the “stay awhile and talk” stage has a yellow turn in. So you go in with the kill quest make the kill, and don’t even see a turn in.

You can defend this design and user experience if you want.

It’s a real easy fix. Just put Ve’nari outside the dungeon to talk to and run the cinematic via [Play Movie] that is frequently used elsewhere. There is nothing requiring you to be in the dungeon to do that.
