A solution to fomo mounts

make two mounts. one with some sort of sparkle or extra effect, and one without. the without one, will always be available, the “sparkle” one is like an aotc mount or w.e.

so you go invincible with frost fog or w.e, and then you got vincible, with no frost fog.

you got argent grand crusader mount, that leaves golden puddles when it runs, and you got generic no glowing eyes or golden puddle run mount.

like the elite sets or whatnot.

Recolors are great.

My question is…what’s the point of this? At this point almost all mounts are just a +1 to the collection book. If they make a less cool recolor, you’re still missing the +1 and the complaint about FOMO mounts still exists.

the whole point is that some people just want the mount look, others want the “I’m so good I got the mount before you plebs” type thing, and then never use it.,

this solves both problems, you scratch the ego of the tryhards that bought their aotc/ce mounts, and the people that just want that cool mount get it.

You’re right. The recolor they offer won’t be the exact color of someone’s transmog they’ll use for a week so it won’t be good enough.

the solution is for you to get over it, who cares if you dont get it.

And my theory of everyone that’s against “FOMO” can’t argue their point without resorting to personal/nasty insults.

I hope you get nothing.

And collectors will still chase both

Don’t be afraid. It’s not real.

Then you make three!

(You see where this is going)

yea but collectors are not really good to use statistically anyways, their behaviour is way out the norm. “hurr hurr, time to use all my kids college fund on these beanie babies/pogs/pokemon cards/”

because literally the fomo people just want to gatekeep for elitist reasons.
while others just want that transmog color.

the entitlement of players thinking they deserve EVERYTHING in the game when there’s numerous amounts of other items available is insane. like it doesn’t matter if you’re missing a few items at all, there’s no “problem” that requires a solution.

just ignore the items you can’t get, they dont matter to you at all in the grand scheme of things.

it’s actually hilarious too, the rare ugly rocket that can only be acquired 14 days a year unironically have people complaining about the drop rate. like you aren’t owed anything.

if you wanted the item then how come items that return to the game suddenly arent used by anyone?

oh shocker, it’s because it lost its value and the collectors just have another number to their account. your entitlement is beyond hilarious and you will never get a glad mount or elite set.

less complaining, more pvping and you will get one. good luck, if you have questions i will answer for you.

Just… let the whole thing die. whether it be asking for the return of FOMO stuff or whatever. I’m too tired to fight against the folks that sing it’s praises and delight in lording it over people. Best way to not let it get to you is to ignore it entirely.

I love these threads because no one looks good arguing about it. Popcorn reading.

But then you’ll have threads saying “blizzard hates casuals!!1!1 I want the sparkles on my mount!”

I always thought that each store mount or removed FOMO mount should require a reputation grind or a long quest chain with some interesting lore attached to it. You can either spend a month grinding for it or simply buy it if you’re feeling lazy.

lol. its like either they are elitist (which makes no sense to me, ive been playing since 2004 and got so many fomo things) and believe that having the special mounts makes them better than players that didn’t bother to get it when they could, or they are the NFT bro type that wants their NFT to stay “unique and special”.

all the while missing the whole point of video games. to have fun. they literally become the no fun police.

The overwhelming majority of things can be easily collected/farmed whenever.

It’s okay for a few things to be removed.
