Blizzard can enable achievements in RETAIL that pertain to Classic tasks. No problem to rob from one database to feed another, right?
Achievements:
- “You were prepared” – 100 days /played in Classic! (10pts)
- “The real pet battle” – Equip the Tiny Crimson Whelpling (10pts)
- “Almost Elite” – Level each class/race combination to 60 (5pts)
- “True Huntard” – roll need on a Legendary Item Drop (100pts)
And best of all: #NoChanges
“We can hook those “Wall of No” retailers, yet, seeeee. Make them grind forever, seeeee. Mwahahaha!”
Look to the other forums posted about this exact same topic to see why it is a terrible idea.

Listen to their reasoning. It applies both to transmog and to Achievements.
John’s answer is the best: “No.”
Just doesn’t work IMO…
They are meant to be two different games in a sense. I wouldn’t be against your idea, but if having a lot of achievement points on retail, for instance showing off having 20k+ - 30k+ this would force retail players to play classic if they are achievement hunters.
We could also just get them hooked on what a great game Vanilla WoW is.
I feel like that works better.
Maybe my posts need a disclaimer…
