A simple void elf request

It’s quite clear they don’t care about them.

They just want to use them as the mannequin to build their ideal upon.

Fenelon or others post Lance and Somands mock ups (right now anyways), if they add anything more for Void ideas I’m sure it’ll be great.

it sounds like they want Alliance blood elves lol

dont get me wrong i get it we have the silver coventant in our ranks so i understand the want but… high/=/ void

we’re asking for more void features to our void elves because the race as a whole seems to be piggy backed on high/blood elves and we want it lore wise to have a deeper identity.

And with customizations being the way they are I think it’s important to emphasize the Void theme. Both for VE fans and BE fans who don’t want their race completely copied.

All in all I’m not even someone who’s upset about the current RP tools I think it’s great people can enjoy them, I just don’t want more in that direction done.

Their heritage armor it’s quite nice, but it is quite minimalistic in basic design.

What I could think of adding it’s those ehtereal tendrils you see on some void creatures. They’re not quite like tentacles, they look like accumulated void energy, almost smoky.

I mean, I don’t want to say you’re right but… taps nose

Exactly. One thing that came to my mind some time ago while discussing “normal” hair colors was that in my eyes, those would be lazy for void elves.

Why have just brown when they could have a gradiant at the end of their hair that adds that starry texture?

There’s so many ways to add “normal” things and make it interesting in ways it would emphasize what they are.

The heritage armor lets guys keep the crop top like effect too, normally armors that appear as cropped for the female model won’t on the male model, so they get a A+ from me for that.

Makes the Voidberg idea with void effects on the stomach even more of a cool thing.

People seem to forget that Void Elves and High Elves are inherently the same race.

You know, it just dawned on me while I was preparing my coffee that these topics have ruined my priorities…

If someone were to ask me of what customizations I think would be nice for Void Elves, I could come up with a whole list of both things I’ve seen others mentioning and things I can think of.

But if someone were to ask me what customizations I want for Blood Elves… “Male body jewelry and decent beards?” would be my response.

It’s a little sad that the constant pushing against what Void Elves are made me reach this point, but I really think that Void Elves should be allowed to be their own thing.

Void elf players remind me of that book if you give a mouse a cookie

A lot of VE players actually want Void options so that kinda sucks imo  but definitely made it out better than some core races and other Allied Races, hopefully Nightborne get the love before like anything.

Void elf players kind of screwed themselves, first they cried just to be high elves, basically had it given to them, now crying about the one aspect that won’t let them just copy blood elves (hair) and now another sect of them wants a bunch of void options? Make up your minds there are other races to work on

I can see where you’re coming from completely, I would say the HE fans didn’t really take a liking of VEs until very recently.

But this illustrates a good point too, people who want further HE options on VEs are essentially asking to one, fully copy the BE visual theme which isn’t fair to BE players, and two take time from Void ideas because how much time can Blizzard really spend on just VEs especially when so many core races alone still feel lackluster.

I can get behind that… Adding it to the list.

It’s not spite man.

It’s a perfectly valid request… Some folk like it some don’t.

I often get a lot of folk who like the void options I’ve suggested through my list. Heck several still help helf fans while maintaining the void theme.

Just because you don’t like it you don’t have to antagonize it.

But they’re not.

Blood elves and high elves are inherently the same thing.

Void elves have been literally infused with the void. It’s a part of them.

That sect always existed but was often overshadowed by helf requests.

It’s more forefront now because the helf side effectively got what they wanted and the velf side got little to nothing.

Not enough tentacles and mascara?

The playable ones yes. There is no other lore wise that is playable. This is even supported by word of God that the void elves are not actively recruiting.

No, but if you want these void customizations as much as you claim, why not make your own thread? You complain about people “spamming” the forums with requests for customizations you don’t approve of, 3-5 threads among the literal hundreds and hundreds a day is hardly spam btw, but you only ever come into those threads to say that those requests should be ignored.

You don’t want an “echo chamber” but you won’t make your own thread?

I mean, I’m down with more void customization. The problem with your “we want blood elves and void elves to be unique” stance, is that void elves are always going to be unique with their void options, but the blood elves were never unique. The Alliance has had high elves since vanilla. They weren’t playable but the Alliance has had them.

In BC the horde got playable blood elves sure, but the only thing that made them unique was that they were playable.

How? People asked for high elves for years, and the response from blizzard was “lol no, blood elves are high elves.”

Then Blizzard gave the alliance Void Elves, a race that was not asked for. And Blizzard introduced them with Alleria, who was shown in her void form and then in her high elf form a minute later. So people had the expectation that they would be able to have a high elf appearance with a void form. But nope, blue skin and purple hair.

Then Blizzard was like “Okay, here is 90% of what you asked for, but you have to keep the purple hair.” And people are like “Why though?”.

I mean I get it, blizzard has this fascination that in pvp you should be able to tell what race you’re fighting at a glance. Does anyone not know that if you’re alliance and you see a, high elf for lack of a better term, that it’s a blood elf? Or that if you’re horde and you see a high elf, that it’s a void elf?

So you admit this isn’t a Void Elf customization thread then. Cool.

I do when it’s used as a weapon against other requests :man_shrugging:.

I’m all for any options anyone wants for any race, expanded customization can only help the game, not hurt it.

Just because I don’t like/care about void customization doesn’t mean I’m putting down people who want to see that on void elves, such is the same I expect of those people who don’t care for regular customization not put down those who do want to see it just because they don’t like it.

There is no justification in denying anyone’s requests when it stands to reason.

Love how you read the 1st sentence and ignored everything else. And you claim you’re here for just an honest discussion?

The whole thing didn’t need to be addressed and you sorta repeated yourself, so its not like the part I picked to reply to didn’t represent the core of everything else you said.
