So if you buy the Epic edition of The War Within, you get a quest chain called “A Sacred Connection” which wants you to collect 50 and then again 500 Storm Spirits to collect an armor set. However, what the game doesn’t tell you is that there are actually two different versions of this quest, one that takes place in the Dragon Isles and on that takes place in Khaz Algar, both with the exact same name.
Khaz Algar version = #81994
Dragon Isles version = #83025
Issue #1) As these are two separate quests entirely, you have to collect all 500 in the specific continent that you have your quest picked up. And, if you started the first half of the quest in the Dragon Isles for the initial 50 Storm Spirits, you are permanently locked in to the Dragon Isles as well for the second half of the chain, regardless of if your character has progressed to Khaz Algar. This means that if you’re like me, the game wants you to stop playing in the new zone and go back to the old continent and farm for hours. Likewise, dropping the quest if you’ve progressed to the second half of the chain won’t allow you to pick up where you left off with the Khaz Algar version in the new continent, your toon is perma-locked to whichever version you started on.
Issue #2) If you are currently on this quest, every single mob in the open world will show as “highlighted” as if they’re all quest mobs. And this seems to be independent of which version of the quest you are on. So even though I was on the Dragon Isles version of the quest chain, every single mob in Khaz Algar was highlighted as if it was a quest mob. And, unfortunately, from my understanding the only way to fix this is to complete or abandon the quest.
The question I have for Blizzard is this, why the two different quest versions? Why not just one that’s for elite mobs in both Dragon Isles AND Khaz Algar, allowing you to progres it in either. That seems like it would have been a much clearer and easier way to handle this.
