[A RPPVP XRealm] Clan Battlehammer is Recruiting Dwarves!

King Regent Pragus returned to his quarters after a long and arduous meeting with other Alliance leaders about how strange and sometimes malevolent echos of the past had been appearing across Azeroth. He’d witnessed the echos himself while patrolling outside Blackrock Mountain, Clan Battlehammer’s base of operations. It had been awhile since a possible threat like this had reared its head so close to home.

Exhausted from the diplomacy, Pragus hopped on the bed and began to drift in and out of consciousness while looking at the painting of the great King Bruenor that hung opposite of his bed on the wall. Suddenly, the painting seemed to come to life and speak to him!

Pragus! Arise! Yer kin need yeh now!

The door to Pragus’ quarter swung open with a loud thump and shook him from his dream-like state.

“Pragus! Time teh git up and git to it!” bellowed General Katrell in his trademark joyfully chiding manner. “If yeh think those meetin’s wore yeh out, wait’ll yeh hear this!”

Katrell unfurled a large map of Azeroth with an area of the ocean to the west of Pandaria and southeast of Kalimdor circled with the words Khaz Algar written in in the middle. Next to this was a drawing of what appeared at first glance to be a dwarf in Stoneform, but on closer inspection Pragus noticed a label beneath that said simply “Earthen”.

“We need to act on this immediately,” said Katrell.

Pragus nodded in affirmation as Katrell continued, “It appears th’ lore o’ th’ Earthen and Khaz Algar has now been verified first hand by our scouts. Wha’ are yer orders?”

Pragus looked towards the painting of King Bruenor again and smiled as he began to say his peace. “Prepare th’ troops teh move. It beh our responsibility teh keep th’ Horde out of the ancestral lands o’ th’ Dwarves of Azeroth and ensure the Alliance pay th’ ancient kin proper respect when entering their land… an’ by extension o’ kin… our land. Weh shall seek teh work cooperatively with th’ Earthen and even welcome them inteh our ranks if they so choose. However, if any for any misguided reason some of the Earthen choose teh work with th’ Horde, they shall die as Horde rather than as kin. So beh it!”

Katrell nodded and hurried off to begin rallying the troops. Pragus, still looking at intently at the painting of King Bruenor, suddenly stood up tall and fired off a sharp salute at the painting before exiting his quarters with haste to help with the preparations.

Clan Battlehammer of Emerald Dream (now 15 years old and still going strong) is recruiting for the War Within, including from other realms now with the xrealm guild feature! We are an all-Dwarf (including Dark Iron and Earthen kin), Alliance-only RPPVP guild that prefers WARmode on.

What We Do

Gather together once a week for our Call to Arms to head out into the world and battlegrounds to kill Horde! If you’re online, you’re expected to be in the raid group and Discord. Talking in Discord is not required but listening is. If you can make it due to IRL, that’s okay, but the more the merrer. Try your best to be present! While we are casual compared to many guilds, we still like to give our best effort and come away with wins!

Engage in light-RP together by marching together, participating in short, pre/post in-character battle speeches (interaction encouraged but not required, you can just politely listen if speaking up isn’t your thing), and shouting our battlecry “Long Live Clan Battlehammer!” as we smash the Horde! We keep /s and /y in character but this is not required in other channels like guild chat. Deeper RP welcome as well but not required. We have a few loreheads with us that can help you with any RP questions.

Fight honorably by allowing the enemy to rez and reform at appropriate times to keep the battle going rather than camping folks into the, though especially honorless Horde may not receive such kindness.

Speak honorably by keeping politics, religion, etc. out of public channels. We’re here to enjoy being Dwarves in Azeroth. Keep IRL in IRL. We also stay PG13, avoiding consistent cursing, until after hours (10 PM server).

We are NOT a PVE guild, though several members do enjoy doing PVE content with each other. Do not expect a regular raid team, but if there is interest and we can pull people together we might give it a go.

Visit our Discord and reach out to an officer when you’re ready to join!

Bumps in the deep

Clan Battlehammer formed up in Dornogal ready to be seen. There had been massive, roving bands of Horde spotted all week long throughout Khaz Algar, especially by war supply crates.

“Bah th’ Authority o’ King Bruenor, these crates belong teh Clan Battlehammer an’ th’ Alliance! Any Horde attempt teh interfere further shall result in a swift death! Long Live Clan Battlehammer!” yelled Pragus.

“LONG LIVE CLAN BATTLEHAMMER!” came the response of some 20 dwarves ready to destroy Horde. The Hammers took off and spread out to search for war crate drops and Horde raids, but the roving warbands seen earlier in the week were not to be found.

“I’ve got Sunfury Battalion in Hallowfall,” came Longbeard Kalrum’s voice over the comms.

Pragus’ face hardened in a grimace that almost made him look Earthen. “I want them. Let’s go!” he ordered. The Hammers had been waiting for another chance to smash these blood elves skulls since they invaded dwarven territory in the Ringing Deeps a few weeks ago.

“Wait! I’ve lost sight of the war party!” came Kalrum’s voice across the comms. The forward momentum of the dwarves towards Hallowfall continued unabated which proved a boon as Kalrum’s voice again came across the comms," Nevermind! There they are! Visual reestablished!"

“Call it, Kalrum!” Pragus sent across the comms.

The Hammers swarmed into Hallowfall, collecting on Kalrum’s location like cinderbees to honey.

“Ready?! Now! Dive!” yelled Kalrum into the comms. The Hammers sent their gryphons straight down and smashed into the blood elves from directly above creating a shockwave that surely knocked a few of enemy off their feet. Then the hammers and axes started swinging. The arrows and bullets were loosed. Spells of rejuvination lit up area with the Light! The blood elves battled fiercly, but the Hammers had a slight numbers advantage and wore them down in time.

“Rams! Form up!”

The Hammers mounted their rams and lined up in front of the sight of battle, waiting for their enemies to be able to rise, regroup, and come back for more if they felt so inclined… honorable battle in the name of King Bruenor. The enemy lay motionless, perhaps unaware that the Hammers are sworn by their honor to allow their opponents to regroup before reengaging in battle should that enemy simply rise and walk away.

“Crate on the way,” came in over the comms. Most of the Hammers took flight to go and take the crate. A few stayed behind to ride with their bountied kin to find a cave. It had been sometime and the enemy still had not regrouped. It was surmised that they must be calling in reinforcements before returning to battle, and thus the search for an appropriate venue for a dwarf.

A cave was found just in the nick of time as the blood elves of Sunfury Battalion returned, this time flanked by their allies. There were the goblins of Quickfuse Cartel and several other combatants previously unknown to the Hammers. Among them were a collection of Death Knights, made clear by their ghoulish armor and disembodied voices. The Hammers pulled into the upper chamber of the cave looking to whittle their enemy down as usually but the initial push was strong! The Hammers repelled it but at great cost. Some of their backline was pulled out the gap by the group of Death Knights, quickly falling without the assistance of the main group. The Hammers repelled another push but lost another few in the same manner and soon were overrun.

For the first time in a long time and many different enemies, the Hammers were allowed to rise and regroup. It appeared that their current enemies, unlike so many others before, were aware of what constitutes honorable combat.

“What a pleasant surprise,” muttered Pragus, “th’ filthy knife ears an’ their friends are gonna let us git up, first. Tis good to face a worthy opponent that understands honorable combat. Still… they must die… and they think the same of us. It is the only way. Long Live Clan Battlehammer!”

“LONG LIVE CLAN BATTLEHAMMER!” reverberated off the walls of the cave letting the enemy know they were ready to fight for the cave again until they were pushed out. The enemy again pushed in, this time focusing on the lip of the cave. Pragus hugged the wall while trying to peek out when suddenly he felt his body flying into a mass of Horde bodies. He’d been deathgripped!

“I’ll make yeh work for it!” using Holy and Shadow magic to shield himself from the blows of his enemies for as long as he was able before falling to the stone beneath his feet. The Hammers battled on but were finally forced from the cave, pulling around the rocks and moving backwards as they battled the blood elves and their allies. Back they moved finishing off as many blood elves as they could as they were forced to the edge of the cliff where they made their last stand.

Back in Dornogal, Pragus rested in the Earthen hot tubs, his aching muscles rejuvenating and reacquiring their previous strength to be ready for the next battle. His thoughts meandered around the mistakes in the battle.

They sure answered our webs from last time. Tha’ group o’ death knights was a force! We’ll need a counter or to just hug the walls better. I can’t believe I got gripped. While the blood elves’ battle strategies are no match for our kin, their might combined with that of the goblin cartel and their other allies makes them a force teh beh reckoned with. Weh’ll beh readeh fer th’ next engagement. As soon as th’ troop are healed, it’s time fer some trainin’!

(( GGs to Sunfury, Quickfuse, and their allies. Amazing to have RPPVP hopping again on so many fronts. You are by far as a group the most honorable opponents we’ve faced recently because you respect the rez and regroup tradition of RPPVP… but as noted in the RP… you still have to die for your other transgressions. We look forward to future engagements! o7 ))
