A warm, orange glow broke through the evening sky in Duskwood as embers floated from above. A plume of smoke rose towards the stars, the remnants of a small hovel its source. The smell of burning flesh and wood cut through the fresh forest air as the screams of a family began to fade. Two cowled men rode the dilapidated path that led from the ruined farm, their horses beating through the weeds that had begun to cover it.
A voice broke the silence of the grim night once more, “You are sure they were apostates?”
“We must have faith in the judgement of the Light, brother,” the other replied, “Doubt is the weapon of the Shadow.”
The Monastic Order of Saint Lordain
First formed following the Second War, the Monastic Order of Saint Lordain are a highly secretive brotherhood of monks, tasked with the investigation of heresy within the ranks of the Church of the Holy Light. They serve as the judge, jury, and executioners of the Light’s will, and the Order itself is unknown to all but the highest echelons of the Church.
Who are we?
The Order of Lordain is a small Holy RP guild dedicated to creating quality roleplay with dark themes and a focusing on realism within the Warcraft universe. We prefer to focus on the “common man” style of roleplay, not using magic weapons or powerful abilities, instead relying on wit.
Who do we do?
Above all, our roleplay revolves heavily around the investigation of heresy. If you enjoy horror thrillers, mysteries, or spying, all in the setting of holy RP, we’re probably the guild for you! We make a big point of looking at the more covert side of inquisitions: observation, questioning, and interrogations, rather than door-kicking and pyre-burning.
How are you different from any of the other holy guilds?
We try to set ourselves apart in our style of roleplay and our quality. Our goal is to try to realistically portray a sect of inquisitorial monks as best we can by embracing the darker side of the Warcraft world that are often forgotten.
How do I join?
We are dedicated to “quality over quantity,” and that is reflected in how we recruit. Prospective members must be recommended by an existing guild member, or under-go a trial period to fully join. If you have any questions or would like to speak to an officer, contact Theudric in-game. Recruitment is done purely in-character.
Are there any requirements to join?
Being a monastic order, we try to maintain the male-only atmosphere, alongside being a primarily human guild. If you have a character that you think will fit, feel free to message Theudric in-game! Alongside that, certain classes just don’t fit the bill. It wouldn’t make sense for a warlock or death knight to join a Light-based guild.
