“This is not for idle hands, nor prying eyes. Information must not be lost. But it must not be used unwisely. Stay your hand, friend, or proceed—if you know the way.” -Archmage Antonidas, Grand Magus of the Kirin Tor

Est. June 2014
Though not aligned with the Kirin Tor since olden days, The Order of Amberstaff stands in kind with the values of preservation in the balance of Azeroth, peace amongst its denizens, and most of all; Control over the powers that be. From the dawn of the First Hundred Human Arcanists, to the modern era of instant translocation and the ever-competitive technological growth, Amberstaff has stood deep within its own proprietary with its claim of the ruins of Ambermill. After the Forsaken Onslaught by the hands of the Banshee Queen, the wizards and their mysterious Archwizard laid within their dominionic ward for many years… Left in exile to practice their own control and mastery of the magicka and sorceries of old and new.

Yet, as the turn of the hour shifted the forces of Alliance and Horde from allies of survival into enemies of hatred, once again did the Ambermill Dome come crashing down- scattering the Wizards of Silverpine to the four corners of Azeroth for sake of their own survival. Now, heralding the new age of magic and a keen interest on the developments of the realm outside their exile, Third Archwizard Purdue has gathered his peoples and prepares to strike out yet again against those that would upset the balance.

The Order of Amberstaff has a long history of being a neutral organization and separatists of the Alliance. Having no close ties to either side of the fight, the Order helps those who help them back. Through the years, the Order has worked with many well known military organizations and many more guilds in total- Alliance and Horde! With the fall of their home in Silverpine at the dawn of the Battle for Azeroth, the Archwizard has dispatched more of his agents, Both Horde and Alliance, to the world at large to gain support to the factions of this world! The Archwizard is always open to a meeting with the other Lords, Ladies, Maesters, and Masters of the many corners of Azeroth; Be they in Light or Dark.

HOW TO JOIN?

Hey hey! I’ve been a part of the Amberstaff since late 2016 and now lead the Amberguard force with my character Blue!

Everyone in the council is a GM that write out different styled events, but currently, I am personally making a character sheet system to make combat more entertaining and far more exciting! For those considering joining the guild, I implore you to message me on Discord at Pariah#0354 to see the document I’ve made explaining the system. Though it’s similar to D&D, it is meant to be simplified for those unfamiliar with the tabletop to be able to pick it up and learn quickly! It’s not required (and hell, the character sheet itself isn’t required since I’m the only one running events with it) but I recommend downloading the Dicemaster addon for it! It’ll help keep a copy of your traits in game~

I’ve been a part of the order for, about half a year now I believe and it’s been a good time from start to finish. Minimal drama, fun storylines and character development for everyone, and everyone makes a effort to try to help with that development. I actually just joined at first one day flying around on my druid. I saw Alranon down there and was like,“Huh, cool guild name.” and messaged him and talked to him for a bit, a few days later I brought my mage Anthony in and started having a blast as a apprentice of the order, eventually bringing in my druid as a instructor and trying to help give back to the order on him!

The order of amberstaff has been a home wow players dream of. When I started as a common menber the guild gave me the opportunity to further develop my character and my relationship with friends. Now writing this as a memeber of the council I encourage anyone who likes what they see to keep an ear to the ground for more to come.

Coming to Amberstaff was a journey. The stories of the people, the guild itself, is what brought me in. It isn’t just a guild of magic, it’s a family. Before joining, I was expecting incredibly well-written characters and an abundance of activity. What I got was immersive characters written by guild mates that I can call family.

I’ve got to say, I love this guild, and that’s not an exaggeration. I joined up around the time of a career faire in Stormwind when I was, at that point, still trying to level my character. I had gotten a bit into Stormwind walkup RP but that’s hit or miss, as we all know. I thought “Hey, this game is pretty much meant for mages, and I’m a mage.”

Not only that, but as soon as I saw the group hanging around I saw a great amount of chemistry and interactivity between the handful of characters there. The pitch was that there was a freeform approach to magic RP, and that sounded cool to me. I seemed to have joined during a “lull” period, after they had wrapped up a major storyline and wanted to pull more bodies in to experience the new one. It worked out nicely. I had plenty of time to settle in with more casual RP before the very intense Teldrassil storyline kicked in. I was hooked before, but after that I realized that there’s such a great level of character progression you can go through if you’re willing to put forward the effort to keep writing your character along with the events that happen IC.

The guild is tight-knit and since I joined, I’ve found that a lot of my guildmates have been really good friends. Even outside of WoW I’m happy to hang out with a lot of them. I’m really glad I joined up with Amberstaff and plan on sticking around for the foreseeable future.

Look I can’t even tell you what year I joined Amberstaff because I’m a fool and I’m bad with dates. Someone in the Guild will remind me for the umpteenth time and I’m just gonna forget again because timekeeping is for nerds.

Also, I’m pretty sure being able to tell time is a form of Chronomancy which is illegal, so I’m on the right side of the law here. Don’t try to correct me.

When I’d joined Amberstaff I was still in a little guild called Lightning Lancers. You can make of that what you will I do not care. And my character was tasked that particular day with making sure a Scarlet Guild recruiting in the Cathedral District didn’t get harassed by a gathering crowd.

I’m sure you’re smart enough to see where this is going, but in case you don’t things went south. They went south so hard and so fast.

My Draenei, then Maiketa before she bit the dust in the worst way possible on Argus and I changed her to Nethielle did her best to calm the crowd. I can’t recall WHEN exactly Amberstaff showed up, but I do recall a certain Worgen taunting me and obviously I couldn’t just let that stand because my parents didn’t raise a coward. They didn’t raise an idiot either, but they got that too so here we are.

Anyway one beating later I’m being asked to join Amberstaff. Like ‘Hey we see you’re in another guild right now but you seem fun come hang out with us.’ And I was hesitant because I don’t just like hitting /gquit for no reason, and I can’t even explain WHAT specifically drove my decisions back then.

I hadn’t heard of Amberstaff at that point, and I can’t even recall seeing any members running around though I must have at some point. It was in a sense, a bunch of randos asking me to join their guild on the basis that one of their members beat me in a duel outside of Stormwind.

Obviously, I said yes.

I don’t consider myself any kind of decision maker. One look at my style of dress will tell you that. Under no circumstances should I be allowed the power to make choices and yet somehow. For some reason, joining Amberstaff has consistently remained one of the best decisions I’ve made in this game. WoW could literally combust harder than Teldrassil and I would not care one bit because these people will still be here.

And you hear about it all the time. You hear about how people leave Guilds or leave the game and lose contact with all the people they know, and I’ve never once gotten the sense that Amberstaff or the friends I’ve made within it will fall off my radar. No matter where I go, or what I do I’m still going to have these people with me and it warms my heart knowing that.

I legitimately cannot comprehend being in another Alliance Guild at this point. It just boggles my teeny little mind. Amberstaff is my home. They allowed my obnoxious posterior in despite my then many and now slightly less apparent flaws and I can honestly say that I’ve become a better person for knowing these people. I’ve learned a certain sense of calm from these guys that I can’t say I’d have obtained anywhere else.

And I can guarantee that should I get married, I’ll be posting screenshots of my own Wedding day in the Guild’s discord. People will be like ‘Janeya who are you texting, it’s your big day.’ I’m texting the Squad. I’m texting all my friends, this is their day too. We’re ALL getting married, I hope my future husband/wife doesn’t mind sharing.

I have known Amberstaff for sometime now, and although I recently joined them Officially, I can say with 100% certainty that they are a great guild with a good group of people in it. I have known their guild master for a while, pretty chill dude and always willing to help with anything you need.
I leaned about Amberstaff when I was with my previous guild. We ran events together and they I quickly became friends with many of their members, some of which I talk to them every day. About a month or so I left said guild and Joined up with them and so far, my experience has been wonderful! Even if you do not desire to join, I’d still recommend you give them a try!

So, a lot like Neth, I can’t actually exactly remember when I joined, but I’m guessing it was around 2015 or so. I’ve had this particular Draenei character for a while before that, and had been in a guild prior to joining Amberstaff, but it was during my very first real experience with the game. I had no idea how to do anything, and unfortunately, had no friends left wanting to play WoW at the time who could help me out. Between a lot of fear, and a heavy dose of feeling isolated, I was invited to a guild that set me on a course for being exposed to some friends I still have today, and a whole lot of heartbreak.

I was only there for a few months before I was forced to leave, as people ICly and OOCly had borderline begun a witch hunt and I got caught in the crossfire, with a lot of that ‘drama’ falling on my shoulders, while also dealing with someone who was making every effort to make my life a living hell. Stalking me from character to character, service to service, so I hid. It was all I could think of at the time. I clung to one friend, kept very few contacts, and made myself vanish for several months. It took weeks of work to get me to just log back in, and even then, I had to have a friend go through and delete all the messages left behind by that stalker so it wouldn’t send me into a panic again, as it’d been suicide notes left multiple times a day.

I was leaving hell, true and proper, with one friend to my name, and a game I still barely understood that I desperately wanted to play.

I got a message from someone I’d thought had forgotten about me as well, but apparently I’d left a good enough impression on a handful to earn a warm welcome when I dared to log back into a toon someone could recognize the name of. I had no guild, no where to go, one friend, no clue what was happening, and I was terrified out of my skull at the prospect of being around more people again. But… where else could I go? Aacer’s offer to me was to try, just try, and talk to some of these folks, Amberstaff, where he’d gone after the guild we’d been in went up in smoke. I distinctly remember sitting on the roof of one of the buildings overlooking the Cathedral district, and watching Alranon walking around in white robes, talking to people and thinking to myself “Please, never notice me, never speak to me, don’t even realize someone’s wanting me in your guild.”

It took a couple weeks before I agreed to be around them, and honestly, I don’t really remember how I joined exactly, but I struggled. Horribly. I was terrified every day I logged in, waiting for the fire to come back, for people to turn on me, for someone to show up and get me kicked, or worse still, for people I hoped so desperately would tolerate me, to just want me gone.

They took me in. Properly. They brought me to events, encouraged me to talk in /guild more, tried to get me to join in on more content they were doing, explained to me how things like gear restrictions worked, basic things that no one had ever brought up. They brought me to my first raid, something I’d thought was strictly for the top 1% of players. And worst (really best) of all, they encouraged me to come join them in Discord and talk. Something I’d outright refused to do for over a year.

My reasons for joining Amberstaff weren’t IC ones, IC reasons came about, but I didn’t seek it for that reason. Faeere never had a reason to join a MAGE guild, but I found a reason to stay in it. I still do. They’re the people who helped encourage me to join voice and talk, to try and fight that want to fade out in the background and be too scared to make friends. They believed in me, and gifted me with a chance to prove I could help better the community, and I wish I could have done better, but maybe the future will hold more chances for me to give back.

I have many sources to thank for helping me recover as well as I have. Social Anxiety isn’t cute or fun, it’s effected me in so many ways, and this guild, and those who I call friends within it, they’ve no idea how they’ve effected me, and I wish I could put into words how thankful I am to know them. I’m thankful that I can call Alranon a very dear friend of mine, and know that I can go to him with troubles, that I can turn to Neth and laugh and have fun, that I can go to so many of these people and just breath for a little bit. In a community that still, admittedly, overwhelms me some days, and my fears get the better of me, but they welcome me in with open arms, and happy smiles I can hear in their voices.

This may be my only post, but as much as I would love to give IC reasons for my character to be in an IC guild on this RP server, my reasons are so heavily OOC ones, that it’d be a disservice to talk about anything but that. So thank you.

Thank you Amberstaff for helping me, and thank you for always welcoming me home.

I joined the guild about half a year or so ago? (IDK, somewhere during mid-legion) I’ve loved it so far, and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. The officers are all great, which is, like, super rare for things like this. (Seriously, I can’t think of a single other online group like this where I didn’t hate at least ONE of the leaders)

They’re all really friendly, and are willing to help out with lore/character ideas, and there’s no pressure to commit to anything, so you can put as much or as little time in as you would like, which is really nice if you already have other things that take priority.

All-in-all, I love this guild and can’t quite picture myself being part of any other.

Well.
I haven’t really been in the guild at all officially and all, but I’ve been a sort of person that hangs around here and there. I’ve got no real guild to call a ‘home’, at least not yet. I’ve known this guild and seen it since I actually started playing WoW which was just Mid-Draenor. You know at first I’ll be honest, I was just really doubting a lot during that time. Fresh in RP, fresh in a lotta things like WoW mechanics and stuff. Magic was a real strong thing I wanted to really rp. I started off really not knowing what to do.

I was referred to this guild by my GM at the time and I was just learning how magic really worked in WoW. Over time I started to just begin memorizing and correlating it with my toon that I have worked on before recently shelfing her. To be honest. I learned a lot from this guild, with weekly events that included teaching/learning from people who knew their stuff.

So ahm, since then I’ve just hung around. It’s a friendly environment to be in, I mean at least in my opinion. I can’t speak for anyone else but for me it’s been a cool ride and stuff… <— That sounded so cheesy when I just said it aloud. I mean I’m not sure what else to add o-o the GM I’ve known for I think a year or two? Three? We’ve been pals er…Well I don’t know what really say o-o friendos is probably better. I don’t like how pals sound so just bear with me (Hohoh Furry Pun OwO). BUT YKNOW It’s just been a long road that hasn’t ended and I like to just hang around nods I mean I probably should have a reason but I just sorta suck at that stuff so HERES MY BEST NODS Amberstaff’s Gucci Af.
