Are you a fellow Draenei enthusiast? Would you like to meet with other Draenei, Lightforged, and Man’ari RPers in a family-friend/SFW community? The Exiles’ Refuge would like to welcome all Space Goat to join our enclave - a Discord Community to celebrate and appreciate all things Draenei in World of Warcraft!

Mission Statement:

At The Exiles’ Refuge, our goal is to maintain a welcoming environment for roleplayers who enjoy Draenei lore while providing resources that all members can use to help connect with other players and friends alike. Our hope is to be a one-stop shop for fellow Draenei looking to find other roleplayers and make new connections.

We have sections for character profiles and looking for RP, in addition to guild forums where leaders/officers from MG, WRA, and other regions are also welcomed to post recruitment. (You do not have to be a Draenei-centric guild to post, but it is helpful!) And there’s much more to offer!

Embrace Creativity!

In part of being a roleplay-centric community, we also welcome artists and writers to showcase their creative talents in their own member-created forums and space. Art, screenshots, short stories and other works are welcomed!

The Discord community function allows members to curate their own Threads which makes it easier for others to find art and other goods. Artists, writers, and screenshot enthusiasts will no longer have to worry about their works being pushed out by others! You control the flow of your own thread and members can follow threads for updates!

Keep It Simple and Safe!

To help facilitate adequate etiquette, we have structured rules and guidelines to keep a positive and safe space for everyone. We request all new friends to read and accept our regulations prior to becoming full members. (We use a Discord-approved App to automate roles and membership to the server.)

We take our rules seriosusly!

Yes, we have gated the community behind rules and roles for two reasons:

• To combat intrusive bots and hacked accounts. It’s not a sure-fire of dealing with hacked accounts, but it is also a step in ensuring our additional stance on behavior;

• We want future members to know what is expected as far as behavior and etiquette goes. We know there are those who wish to impose and perpetuate harmful stereotypes and tropes regarding Draenei roleplay.

• We also do not allow disruptive behavior and intentions, nor do we allow unsolicited messages behind closed doors. (Adult/“NSFW” content is not allowed, and our rules address this.)
• Our moderation team uses app-supported tickets/“Modmail” to keep track of issues and problematic accounts.

It’s been very nice to see this community grow as someone who was helping Cali start it! The folk in there currently are great to bounce ideas off of while talking about the more nitty-gritty bits of Eredar lore.
It’s something to consider checking out if you’re comfortable with discord communities. Plus the small casual events hosted have been fun and a great way to meet people you might miss in Stormwind!

Goat morning! This is just a regular, neighborhood-friendly bump for our community!

Throughout June and July, we’ve held a few community events, including an expedition and dig for draenic artifacts, as well as some social meet-n-greet activities! We have a few more social gatherings planned after TWW, but we are still very active and look forward to meeting more fellow Draenei, Lightforged, and Man’ari friends!

Goat morning, Azeroth! It’s a new year so time for a new bump!

Back when we created this community in May of last year, we weren’t sure how things were going to work out, but I like to believe we have been rather successful thus far! What started as a small ambition has turned into a collective group of amazing roleplayers and talented creators whose work we look forward to every day.

It is our hope to see the Exiles’ Refuge continue to grow and provide a safe haven for Draenei roleplayers; giving them options for creative outlets while fostering positive guild and roleplay connections has always been our main priority. Moving onward, it is our hope to provide more community events and means for members to network together.

Our 2025 Roadmap:

• More exploratory expeditions and adventures in open-world scenarios,
• Newcomer-friendly lore lectures and teaching opportunities,
• A continuation of monthly art, writing, and screenshot challenges,
• Find ways to make the community more engaging and accessible.
