[A-RP] 🛡 The Ardent Circle

The Ardent Circle

Recruitment is currently CLOSED.

The Ardent Circle, a heavy RP guild here on WRA, is a knightly order of fellows and champions that are sworn to protect and defend the Alliance, its people, and their way of life.

The Circle is a Knightly fellowship which operates in service to the Alliance - keeping watch over nearby enemies, assisting magistrates in dispensing justice, procuring relief and aid to settlements in desperate need, investigating crimes and crises, and countless other efforts, including assisting its allies across the world when called upon!

It’s important to note that the Ardent Circle isn’t like any traditional army or military guild, and we don’t use any strict military structure to organize ourselves, IC or OOC.

If you’re looking to get in touch, you can reach out to the admins here, or through Discord (in-game name provided on the left).

Livi: Skyheart#8704
Hamilton: Frodo Sippin’ On A Capri Sun#8496
Pensife: Toady#1785

Who We're Looking For:

Characters, players, NPCs, and story runners!

  • Players seeking a heavy RP guild that offers engaging opportunities for all sorts, without enforcing the strict and overburdening military structure often found in combat focused guilds.
  • Mature players with a hunger for immersive, engaging story, and realism driven boundaries.
  • Characters that are actively seeking to aid the Alliance. Regardless of race or class, most characters with legitimate intentions to support that cause will have no issue finding a place in the Circle!
  • Interested in being a DM? We would LOVE to have you!
  • Players must be 18+ in order to join; this is a recent policy shift, but one which we feel will help us in maintaining a comfortable, and safe community environment for our members. Players who are not 18 or older are still welcome to RP with us, but we can’t admit you as a full member.

What We Offer:

Events, Immersion, Engagement

  • Frequent, long running RP storylines and campaigns, shorter bite sized campaigns, and constant casual RP. ( Full list of campaigns down at the bottom of the post. )
  • A well structured environment with clear goals, and a dedication to detail and efficiency.
  • An environment free of OOC drama.
  • A chance for your character to have equal say in most matters through the use of a council, instead of the traditional top down military/officer structure.
  • A chance for eager storytellers to engage and hone their craft.
  • Use of a well crafted system for engagement, including a full blown market where players can earn a currency from our events and RP, and exchange it for items, perks, abilities, and followers.

Other Information:

Events, Recruitment, and all the Fun Stuff

  • The Ardent Circle hosts events all throughout the week, and also on weekends, typically starting around 5/5:30 pm server time. Not all dungeon masters, or stories, however, may follow that time frame, but let us know what your availability is and we’ll be sure to work out what we can.
  • No application required; no website registration required; but we do ask players to join the Guild Discord for out of game RP opportunities, announcements, and keeping in touch with other guild members for coordination!
  • We do require the use of a roleplay addon like TRP (MRP is fine).
  • (NEW!) Upon entry to the order, aspirants will be given one-on-one time with a mentor of their choosing for a minimum of one month to familiarize themselves with the guild and get involved. From there, they can begin the journey to Knighthood!
  • We do not currently allow demon hunters to climb ranks within the Ardent Circle. However, they are still welcome to join as out of character members and fight alongside us, attend events, join the Discord, etc.

Guild Currency:

Attend, Complete, Lead

  • The Guild Currency system offers rewards for activity and engagement throughout the week, completing objectives, attending events/mini-events, and hosting events, each awards a share of Ardent Tokens. This currency can be traded and exchanged for a wide variety of items, abilities, followers, and other nifty nick nacks that can be utilized during events.

Campaigns and Storylines:

Embrace an ongoing story, and forge your legacy.

  • Enjoy near endless opportunities for characters to dive deep into legendary adventures, and carve out a legacy for themselves.
  • For events, we use a simplified D20 system, which anyone can dive into without any complex character creation sheets, or the need to constantly reference stat sheets.
  • Shorter events run anywhere from one to two hours, while the larger ones tend to clock anywhere from three to eight hours.
  • When it comes to campaigns and stories, we go all in for what we call “Epic Campaigns” or “Epic Storylines”, which span multiple months, and often involve non-stop climax events where multiple DMs will offer roleplay opportunities around the clock across a span of multiple days (like most recently with the Siege of Seastone during the War for Stranglethorn campaign, which lasted three days). That said, there are also tons of much shorter, weekend long, one off stories to fill in the gaps between Epic Campaigns.

Welcome to the new forum thread! Our first one was made back when the new forums first came out and we’ve had a leadership shift since then. Now we can update the post frequently without having to bug Vanforth about it. c;

He’s responsible for most of the writing here, as the bulk of it was carried over from the original post. I hear that WoW Classic has taken his soul…

Forum thread is bad because I don’t like the emoji you picked and want a new one. Blocked and reported

On a more serious note, woo, new forum time! :stars:

Just had a meeting on Saturday to discuss the current content ICly, for news of the war ending has spread fast!

Though divided on how to proceed, the majority of active members attended the cross-faction peace rally (which, thankfully, was civil). Soon, we’ll decide where to go next!

Reacting to the events in Durotar was very fun to do as a group. We’re lucky enough to have fantastic members who will never take IC conflict OOCly, so it was definitely interesting to see which characters were grateful for the peace, and which characters are left feeling unfulfilled in thinking that they will never get justice for the wrongs they were dealt.

We’re having our last campaign. If you want to poke us to help the war effort, send any of the officers a message! Recruitment is CLOSED, though.

Stormwind Cathedral was unusually active with the sudden influx of soldiers and civilians crashing through a portal from Stranglethorn and onto the pavement of the city. Medics ran back and forth, softly calling out orders to one another.

Several corpses lay on the ground outside, slowly being taken away by the guards. Demons, skeletons, and a few humans.

Olivier had recovered enough to drag herself out of her cot and sit on the steps of the Cathedral, her gaze and heart hollow. They had lost too much. So many innocents had died in the carnage that the dreadlords had unleashed.

Seastone Keep had fallen.

Olivier leaned against the white stone wall of the building, stricken with grief. Her hands trembled, even now; she had used so much mana trying to hold the escape portal open, up until the very end. They had escaped with their lives, at least – most of them. Everyone except the people who had been dead when they had arrived, and…

And Hamilton. She had not been able to save him. No one had. She still remembered Finnigan’s screams, and Peyton firmly dragging him back and away from certain death. She remembered the hellfire that rained from the sky, and the corpses of those she knew scattered about the grounds, staining the pristine white sand with scarlet blood.

The mage gritted her teeth and turned her head into the wall, a sob shaking her body. She had failed. They had all failed. The Ardent Circle was in ruins.

“What are we supposed to do now…?”
