[A-RP] Army of the Northguard (Prepared for the Prepatch)

This sounds like a really cool concept! I’ll try and contact you sometime tomorrow to see if my character would be a good fit.

Remember, you want to contact Sintagon in game! But I’ll be online as soon as I can be!

If your Discord has a Guest role, I’d love to join it. As I posted above, I have a belf that has been staying in the ruins of Gilneas, no longer comfortable with pursuing Horde objectives. I’m also am officer of the Night Lords, a militant Forsaken/DK guild based in Lordaeron. I have many (50) characters and would love to participate in your endeavor, from whatever angle you could use. My discord is posted in my reply above.

I would be happy to play alongside your guild, and/or act as antagonist.

(As for Anzl, she is on the Lordaeron Reclamation Venture council, and is currently working at ridding the land of the Blight, and restoring Lordaeron for the Forsaken. She will not side with you. This sounds like so much fun!)

Army of the Northguard may sound a bit restrictive from the surface, but actually, we’re fairly open to most classes and all races. Of course, we’re really gunning for a Gilneas/Lordaeron/ and slight Kaldorei presence, but that’s no reason to exclude anyone. I could even see Dalaran natives and Alteraci finding a common ground with the Northguard.

Just as a forewarning, no undead will be allowed to ICly join us. As, well, the guild’s main unifying point is the fact that the undead have destroyed our nations and the Alliance has left them to fester. The other unifying point is that Sint is offering a new home for these refugee nations, as their capitals and much of their land is uninhabitable (as of current lore) due to the Forsaken or general disrepair due to years of exile.

Gilneas, on the other hand, is reclaimed. The only thing stopping it from being a proper nation again is Anduin sitting on his hands and not dedicating resources to rebuilding it. (like he did to Stromgarde in, a timeline scale, maybe 3 or 4 months.) Gilneas has been reclaimed, mind you, since the Alliance went to Kul Tiras.

The First Event is also being postponed for a while. Because I can’t really do anything without members.

Extremely good day for the Northguard. Event might be back on track to the original time I planned out!

We’re growing. Best look out, Forsaken!

if its werewolves vs the undead does that make Gilneas the metaphorical “Bella”?

I can’t thank y’all enough. The support I’ve gotten already is way more than I expected.

Look forward to it tomorrow.

More than likely it will be tomorrow, yep. If not tomorrow, Saturday or Sunday.

It’ll be right in the heart of Stormwind, the Cathedral Square.

Sint’s going to start a rally, partially to ignite the hearts and souls of her fellow man, but also to pick up any new patriots who seek to come with her on her crusade. After this, we’re going to march to Silverpine Forest, claim our land, and ready ourselves for the mission ahead of us.

Anyone is allowed to come. You’ve just gotta inform me beforehand that you will be there.

A man unmarked by symbols of loyalty hands you a letter within a parcel of supplies. These men, masked yet not clearly aligned, have tread carefully within the confining city walls of Great Stormwind since a week prior to now. Their gifts are gracious to the needy and downtrodden, yet their gifts do not come freely. Held within them, to those known to be kindred spirits to their secret cause, or to those who they hope to inspire-, are messages. Their words are simple and not too suspicious, sharing words of inspiration from a mysterious “Dire Wolf”. But today, the message holds no kind words.

It appears to be a list of grievances and a call to action. The Dire Wolf’s words are calm yet carry a sense of bitterness, passion, and enfranchisement. This mysterious benefactor calls out the Alliance for holding back against the Horde, for making peace with them after they had so brutally and senseless warred against us. Words within speak of the other wars that the Alliance has fought against the Horde, and how it seemed each time the Alliance was willing to cede more and more to them. It was as if the Horde itself was leading Alliance thought, leading them to one day fully lay down arms and let the axe of the orc cleave the head of the patriot from their neck. The Dire Wolf calls to the refugees within Stormwind, saying that the Alliance has failed them. It is now up to them to offer a better solution, to inspire others to act.

“For lack of a better solution, we the people should consider the actions of King Anduin Llane Wrynn as tyrannical, and must reach a new ground with our High King. I offer you a chance to air your grievances so that the Kingdom might hear our suffering, our entrapment. I ask not that you act against the crown, for that is delusional; nay, I ask you to stand with me in the Cathedral District, so that the Light and the Alliance can both hear our voices.”

The Dire Wolf closes with,

“If today does not ignite a spark within our ruling elite, we must decide where we stand in the grand scheme of the world. Are we willing to be drowned out for a greater narrative, a narrative of false peace and false hopes? Or are we going to better ourselves, harden our resolves, to fight for a better future? A future for our sons and daughters, our brothers and sisters. We have spent too long fighting for wars we do not believe in, accepting peace that we have no reason to abide by. Shake the firmament with your beliefs. No more, I declare. No more of this.”

Though the Dire Wolf advises to not fight the will of the Crown, it is clear that they already are by beginning this movement. It is a message of mixed words and dangerous hopes, but the message remains sterling throughout. This is a war weary soldier, whom dearly wishes to finish the fight and to go home.

It is signed with an altered Gilnean flag, one that lacks the crown symbolism often recognized as the authority of the Greymane dynasty. Instead, the symbol is flipped, the crescent replaced with an omega symbol. The crown closely resembles fangs in its flipped state.

The rally will be Sunday this week, beginning at 5 or 6 server time.

"Is it not due to the impatience of this kingdom that we are still bound to remain? With such great haste does the King of Stormwind decide the future of his empire, little thought going into the people around him, or the world ahead of him. In playing his game of morality, he has sacrificed many innocent lives to propagate what he believes is the truth. His truth has been the same truth since he was a boy, the idea that there can ever be a peace between an autonomous Horde and the nations that make up the Alliance.

In truth, giving autonomy and agreeing to the sovereignty of the Horde only gives them ammunition. For the better part of forty years have we paid for the madness that was the First Orcish Horde. For the better part of forty years, the First Horde has remained, guiding the philosophy of the Horde. Never has the Horde been separate from what it came from, nor has it even truly tried to stop being what it once was. There is a reason that it is still the Horde, it still revels with the atrocities it was born from. The massacre of the draenei, and the slaughter of humanity. It revels on the horrors of the child soldiers it threw to their graves, the horrors of sacrificing innocents to power their fel campaign."

“The legacy of the demons they were still walks with them, in full view. I do not demand we destroy the Horde. I do not demand that we send the orcs back to Outland. I demand righteous and just change, so that the Horde may never sack Stormwind again. So that the Horde may never invade and conquer Gilneas again. So that the Horde may never burn the homes of the Kaldorei again. I call to never give them the ability to pave a path of horrific glory from the bones of a proud and peaceful people. Never again should we suffer the Burning Legion’s wrath, never again should we arm the monsters who continue to take and take from us.”

“Is it wrong to demand reparations from a beast that has never raised a good hand to the Alliance? Only spears and hate have been flung our way, but we are content with the ruse of peace that has befallen our lands.”

The Dire Wolf’s writing continues after this point, offering a discussion of the reasons behind these peace efforts the Alliance has tried. The writer even condemns humanity’s notion of forgiveness, considering that their forgiveness should only go so far. Trying to get into the mind of the Wolf is somewhat difficult, as they seem to both support and condemn the Alliance. Whatever their game is, it’s hidden in a mire of political language that only pulls you in further to the mystery.

Alright! Tomorrow is the big day! After hearing the Dire Wolf’s provocative message, what else can this mystery speaker say in the eyes of the Light and the Alliance?

It casts an uneasy wind in Stormwind.

One hour. The Wolf speaks soon.

The rally was an outstanding success. In The Dire Wolf’s own words, “The spark is lit”. The Northguard is officially formed, and we’re going to begin our campaign soon. Now’s the time, folks!

A spark leads to a fire. The Northguard must move to make their destiny manifest, their fight real. Tomorrow, they go to establish their stepping stone into a tumultuous future.

Posted in a few locations around Stormwind and even Ironforge, the careful and neat lettering of the Dire Wolf catches your eye again. The altered Gilnean symbol is hard to miss, and after her previous speech, you’re likely curious to see how far she’s willing to go.

“Lothar. Proudmoore. Uther. Menethil. Mograine. Greymane. Fordring. Wrynn. Names that have fought for the future of humanity on this world, against otherworldly invaders and the damned. Names that we continue to shout to inspire one another. With the pride of lions, the strength of mankind, and the virtuous strength of heroism to back each of them, they sacrificed their lives so that we may live and finish the fight.”

“Anduin Lothar saved us all from a wave of destruction, brought forth by the Legion. A wave of demons that the Alliance faltered in truly defeating. Daelin Proudmoore sought to stop them from rising again, but the Alliance stood aside. If he had succeeded, perhaps many of our heroes would still yet live. Uther the Lightbringer brought justice to wherever he walked, and dark powers that the orcs and their demonic masters brought abused his justice. Yet he still very nearly saved us all from the Scourge. A Scourge the Alliance yet allows to fester. Terenas Menethil, although foolish in allowing the orcs to survive, still lead a strong Lordaeron against them. Lordaeron united all of humanity, creating an Alliance that makes ancient Arathor look minuscule. Yet Stormwind cannot even protect Westfall or Duskwood, not to mention their kindred human nations. Alexandros Mograine crushed darkness wherever he moved, Highlord of the Silver Hand and the first and greatest Ashbringer. No paladin alive matches his power or prestige, nor do they even seem to try. Such a bright Light remains uncaptured by an Alliance that welcomes the Void and Chaos into its arms. Liam Greymane saved a fractured Gilneas, his charisma and hope in his people reviving them from the grasp of beasts and undead. And it was his death that hardened the resolve of Gilneas. Yet his father bends and bows for Anduin Wrynn, wasting the sacrifice of his son. Sylvanas goes free, Gilneas is still in ruin, and Liam’s memory rots. Tirion Fordring was a foolish man, but a hero he still was. His rallying cry brought the entire world together to bring the Lich King to justice, and it was his Crusade that continued to fight and strive to heal Lordaeron. He was wrong to accept the Forsaken as anything more than the Scourge, but he still saved Azeroth. His sacrifice against the Legion gave us a chance.”

“And then there’s Varian. His death was a challenge to the Alliance, a challenge that it has failed. A challenge that even he failed.”

Though the Dire Wolf’s words carry on beyond this point, they’re little more than a call to join her assembly again. Another speech, another rally. The Dire Wolf calls once more for the disgruntled members of the Alliance to stand with her. This time they shall speak of heroes and villains, in the shadow of the memorial to all those who died on the Broken Shore.

Her call finishes with,

“I will not let another hero’s sacrifice go to waste. None of us should stand for it. Never again!”

The Dire Wolf’s second speech shall happen on Friday, June 26th.

surprised to see varian on this list after what he did after the first siege of orgrimmar!

anyway, I’d recommend separating the big paragraph into smaller sections to help readability, right now its a bit of a wall of text. looking forward to the ingame speech!

in Varian’s defense. He at least has the excuse of not having foresight, and then never got the chance to act on his promise.

The big text wall is supposed to emulate a rant! Like, a big rant that has very few pauses or breaks to breathe. I’m trying to get the aim of someone really red in the face, really passionate.

But uh! Other news, the Northguard is gearing up for the Shadowlands Pre-Patch. Maybe I’m a little paranoid, but I’m seriously thinking it’s super soon.
