A return to the base race

Hey all,

curious where everyone stands on race changing back to base races.

For example, highmountain tauren were practically like better versions of tauren for the additional features, but now regular tauren have better face customization’s with more options of face paint etc.

Same for trolls. The darkspear customization blows the zandalari away now.

How many of you will be going back to the original version of the class? I’m torn cause I love the option’s darkspear have compared to zandalari, but idk if I can deal with the hunch, plus I’m not a fan of their druid forms. Then again, zandalari bouncy run thing they got going is rough to look at lol.

I like uncorrupted orcs so not I. I actually race changed 2 orcs as soon as I opened Mag’har.

I’m already the base race, so I’m good. Draenei had more customization to begin with compared to LFD. Also LFD can’t be shamans.

I plan on maining a Warlock in Shadowlands, and really imo for Alliance the only real choices are Human or Void Elf.

And I feel Void Elf fits the theme better.

I am slightly tempted to change my monk back to normal Dwarf, but this guy will always be a Dark Iron.

I’m surprised you want to keep your shaman as dark iron! The wildhammer tattoos look great!

LFD is the only allied race that initially had less customization options than the base race. Feel like blizz dropped the ball there. And with the additions to regular draenei and still not much for LFD I can see many Paladins going back to regular draenei.

I love my AR’s. Maghar, Zandalari, Dark Iron are my favorite. Waiting on my night borne to get new customizations. :+1:

I would change my Kul Tiran druid to regular human if that were an option, but otherwise no. I wouldn’t change my allied races. Zandalari are still better than darkspear. They have better faces, bodies, and they stand up straight.

I’m leveling this girl up to be a main in SLs…Ya. I picked the race with the LEAST customisation options for a expantion about customisation. XD I might switch my highmountian back to tauren though. Besides that my base race alts are getting makeovers.

The antlers and travel moose form are reasons enough I think for me to stay a HMT. It follows the lore I’ve written for him, and I know HMT will eventually be getting more customization as well.

However, the new Tauren customization definitely tempted me, haha.

I think my zandy mage might be going fem undead.

That new Elvira hairdo has won me over…and their casting animations are great.

I swapped my Gnome monk to a Mechagnome monk, its back to OG gnome now.

The Mechagnome holo-clone racial was horrible as a tank and the [lack of] Tmog options drove me nuts.

My LFD will stay LFD. Fits better for Paladin anyway.

I hate playing a panda but I love this name. I am deleting this character to use the name for somebody else.

For most of them, no.

  • I like my Zandalari’s run animations, and Darkspear can’t be paladins.
  • I’m not faction changing my Nightborne, as I already have her class on Alliance.
  • Ditto for my VElf.
  • I don’t like playing Goblins (I can’t get into the Ferengi mindset), so my Vulpera is staying Vulpera.
  • My Mechagnome hunter has a mech theme going with her pets, so I’m not changing her.
  • I like the wicker forms my Kul Tiran druid has - and anyway the base race for Kul Tirans is Pandaren, and they can’t be druids.

The only ones I might consider racechanging would be my LFD and HMT, but I probably won’t.

And this toon? I am fond of this toon, so I’m not changing her either.

Just play what you like imo.

I am almost certainly going back regular dwarf myself. Wildhammer is too good to pass up.

Keep Zandalari druid for their druid forms - as a druid you’re stuck in seeing their shapeshift form most of the time anyway. And roll Darkspear for something else, like hunter. Altho DS were always top choice for mages and locks, you can never go wrong with that.

I plan to keep my Lightforged and my Dark Iron Dwarf as they are.

Everything else is already a core race (exception being my KT but they don’t really have a proper core race counterpart).
