So with the 17th Anniversary coming up soon and, from my understanding, the event being tied with the BC in some way… I got to wondering if we could end up returning to Outland in some manner in the future. Like we end up with another version of Outland with the Dark Portal opening all Void-like and we head in to see that the Void staked a claim on the shattered realm and we realign with those left behind there to help beat it back. Or even if another chuck of Outland is revealed or some other shattered realm gets connected in some way to Outland like K’aresh.
Anyways while I am intrigued as to what has happened to the place over the years, I am also curious if anyone wants would want a return to Outland or a Outland 2.0 type setting.

The Dark Portal will run out of colors eventually

This is going through my head now:
“Heroes of Azeroth, the Dark Portal once more-”
“What color is it this time? Purple, Pink, Yellow, etc…?”
“… Rainbow, it’s a Rainbow this time.”

Can we have someone fuse the shards of the Planet outside Outland itself back together? Perhaps have the famous Horn that Garrosh was supposed to use for WoD be used(by an Ogre) to restore the rest of the Planet perhaps restoring it to it’s most pristine drawing from multiple Time Periods?:
- Gorgrond is all Everbloom and on the verge of becoming a Sporemound since the Blackrock Clan lacks the Tech that Garrosh gave them nor the Fel that Gul’dan gave them
- Shadowmoon Valley is now Moon Valley lacking any Dark Star or Fel to corrupt it.
- Talador is instead Goria
- Spires of Arak is instead the Apexis Empire
- Tanaan Jungle is instead the Sporemound Naanu
- Zangar Sea is a Zone ruled by Draenei
- Farahlon is restored
- The Orcish Temple in Nagrand is restored
- Frostfire Ridge is ruled by Apexis and Ogres
Considering we were allowed to see Eredath from Krokuun and Antoran Wastes from Eredath I would hope we’d see Outland floating right above the restored Draenor!
Domination? You’d use Domination!?

I loved Outland. Especially the sci-fi edge of it, and the art and alien ecology.
Also not being tied to Azeroth has a certain freedom to it.

While Draenor on the other hand was all Cathedrals in Caveman and India Land.
K’aresh of course could embody Sci-Fi while restored Draenor could be just Caveman and India Land with Outland floating over it.

The time to revisit Outlands was WoD.
Instead of WoD’s ridiculous time travel plot, that xpac should have given Outlands the Cataclysm treatment, and then introduced a 2nd shard of Draenor to serve as the source of the Iron Horde and the Ogre empire.

Only if they do what Vespero mentioned, and have another surviving chunk of Draenor as well. As it is, we’ve already had two expansions take place there: TBC with Outland, and WoD with alternate Draenor. Not to mention TBC Classic. I’m betting the nostalgic fun of going back would wear off pretty soon if it’s just the same zones as current Outland.

Warlords also had the best soundtrack in the entire game.

Quite the opposite for me really. I never cared much for Outland and the sci-fi elements in wow.

I’d love to go back and see what has happened. It should be a drastically different place by now. I also wouldn’t be opposed to trying and restore it as a planet.
Which was basically what Blizzard was about do and should have done in WoD(using a Horn apparently) but they decided on Time Traveling to an AU.
Thankfully a restoration of the Gorian Empire and Apexis Empire from before the Draenei’s arrival is now on the table due to Chronicle Vol. 2 revealing their existence.

I think the chances are pretty high of us going there if/when Yrel’s Light forces invade Azeroth.
If it means the Fel Horde joins the playable Horde then it is a Yay for me.

Out of morbid curiosity do you prefer the Fel Horde that served Illidan in BC or the one that served the Legion in WoD?
Meanwhile while I don’t personally see the Fel Horde and the Horde working together, I can see a group of Fel Orcs joining up. After the Fel Horde was forcibly Mag’har to boost their numbers and its easy see a group of those converts liberating themselves.
Actually now that I think about it the Horde may have some fel orcs. The Dark Portal Horde guardians in the Blasted Lands have a fel orc variant or red tint to them.

Deffo the one serving Illidan. Because Kargath was their leader. The last leader of the original Horde of Draenor remaining.

I’m partial to the fel horde in WoD. I unashamedly admit I enjoyed that expansion a lot

Making the Orcs drink the demon blood a second time was a mistake. They made the Orcs look stupid and not capable of changing their ways even in an alternate universe. WoD took a huge dump on overall Orc lore and the damage is still not repaired.

WoD was mostly about how you can’t change destiny . The orca are going to become a fel horde no matter what

at least the Fel Horde of Outland was mostly there to fight the legion. The one from WoD joined the legion. so the Outland Horde still has the better motivation to keep fighting.
edith: to make this clear. The Horde of Draenor is my favorite version of the Horde. I have no love for Thrall’s group of hippies. The new Horde can die for all I care.
